Thunderbird Club

Yes! I’ve been using my modern equivalent for a dub/reggae project.
It’s perfect with an old set of Chromes:

I bought this guitar, from 1987 for my wife in 1992. It hung in the same shop the entire time, unsold and according to the owner guys didn’t like that it was a “girls color.”

Ok. So, this is my first Tbird, and initial thoughts are:

Sounds REALLY good, especially with a pick. Played some Skynyrd and it was totally “the sound”

The E string slot in the stop piece is too narrow for the Labella super polished string. It sits firmly where it’s at but it quite ugly. Do roto 66’s fit this better, or is there another string that is similar that will fit. Maybe an aftermarket stop piece???

Intonation SUCKS. Googled around and found the Badbird bridge. Everything on my Tbird is flat, so how do I get one of these ASAP?

Neck is a lot like my 65 Jazz. Narrow and thin. Very “out there” though… long instrument.

Needs a leveling on the frets. Nothing I can’t handle.View attachment 7338821
Looks great! La Bella FS 104's work on my '64 just fine. SITs will fit. But I have had to "work" a string or two on that style before. I have a Badbird but not sure about selling it just yet. But if you can't find one from Scott I'll rethink and check with the guy I got it from to make sure he doesn't want it back. If it's just unplayable, I'll take that thing off your hands.

I want my bridge back...

...There was also a Cassidy that they tried to sell me for $400. Shoulda bought it. But it was just not comfortable enough for me so I passed.
I sold my Cassidy to my bands guitar player. Sounds beautiful, I'm a little bummed- but I didn't like the neck-heaviness of it, and being semi-hollow I decided to not move the lower strap button to the back of the body.
All in all I'm ok with it, if I can't play it it has to go to a new home.
