Yes! I’ve been using my modern equivalent for a dub/reggae project.
It’s perfect with an old set of Chromes:

Yes, but the only brand I recall him using was Dean Markley. I understand why, they are nice, even now that they outsource them. Maybe Miles can correct or fill in.
nickels? are they not manufactured (or manufactured here) anymore? what's their special attribute?.....saw them in ads forever, never occurred to try....

I bought this guitar, from 1987 for my wife in 1992. It hung in the same shop the entire time, unsold and according to the owner guys didn’t like that it was a “girls color.”

Forgot to add this link which explains is actually a "factory second" and one of 32 made with 3 pickups , which was a factory error.

Hey all, what straplocks are you guys using for your Tbirds? I’m usually a Dunlop guy and have 3 straps already fitted with Dunlop locks, unfortunately I don’t have any extra buttons lying around, I do happen to have a set a Schallers along with the buttons though.
I almost always use Dunlop's dual design version.

Dunlop on everything but my 64 II and JC.

Hah! I had to look up "Dunlop dual design" as I wasn't aware of that distinction. I guess I would call it "standard" system. Yes, big Dunlop fan - 97% of my basses have the Dunlop Strap-Loks system, and have used many of their versions. But there's peeps who like/prefer Schaller's, and Schaller is a great company also. As a builder, I think Dunlop offers more options.
