Cost me my only metal-cutting jigsaw blade, but plate is fitted. Just snug enough it doesnt jiggle.

that one's always a gas to jam to...
Made me think about this guy too, though I would say that he and fellow Canadian Frank Marino weren't underrated so much as they've been relatively unsung-
Anyhow, thank you for triggering good memories!

2017 Indonesian (?) 760’s comin’ out….
Putting in the ones (2024?/Chinese) from the broken blue sparkle ‘64.
No other changes being made, same strings, same settings on the rig at the rehearsal space when I get it back there. Set to get the best possible sound (to me) as I can get out of the VP. It’s about as authentic of an A/B I’ll be able to do (as long as I recall what it sounded like on Friday).
pedaled palm muted 8ths (1,4,5 triads in C starting on the E) with a Dunlop nylon .73 on Johnny B Goode and the sheer thump factor was bliss....Yep. Don't know what made you ever think of that combo, but it's a great match. I can't imagine my '06 ever wearing anything but.
Less chunky and the crunch is a roasted thin noodle.Like an outside in Ferrero Rocher
I replaced my original mute bridge with a Badbird as I wasn’t looking for that sound and intonation on the E was way off. @godofthunder59 is the man for that bridge.Ok. So, this is my first Tbird, and initial thoughts are:
Sounds REALLY good, especially with a pick. Played some Skynyrd and it was totally “the sound”
The E string slot in the stop piece is too narrow for the Labella super polished string. It sits firmly where it’s at but it quite ugly. Do roto 66’s fit this better, or is there another string that is similar that will fit. Maybe an aftermarket stop piece???
Intonation SUCKS. Googled around and found the Badbird bridge. Everything on my Tbird is flat, so how do I get one of these ASAP?
Neck is a lot like my 65 Jazz. Narrow and thin. Very “out there” though… long instrument.
Needs a leveling on the frets. Nothing I can’t handle.View attachment 7338821

Check out the birds in Geddy’s studio:
Beautiful Thunderbird II! Yes the Badbird Bridge will solve those problems. Used by Tom Petersson, Mike Watt, Geddy Lee and many others. Intonation without modification for 63-69 Thunderbirds. Send me a dm.Ok. So, this is my first Tbird, and initial thoughts are:

My ‘10 Epi Goth hung at what was then called Rosedale Music for several years. The woman who owned the place was mean. You had to have permission to try anything. Her price on the Goth was a ridiculous $599.00. She used to split Squier starter packs and had the Affinity basses at $299.00 and the Rumble 15s at $129. In those days, the same basses at GC on the other side of town were $179.00 and the little Rumbles were $79.00. The guys who bought the store in 2018 and turned it into Bakersfield Sound Co. liquified the old inventory. They sold me the Goth for $210.00. There was also a Cassidy that they tried to sell me for $400. Shoulda bought it. But it was just not comfortable enough for me so I passed.I recently bought a 2012 MIJ Fender medium scale Jazz Bass (JB62M), from Japan, and I am positive it has never been owned by anyone. It is flawless, the plastic is still on the PG, pickups and tuning keys, tags still attached and the case had all the case candy. Seems like it hung in the shop for 13 years.
