Don’t park your Porsche next to an electric Mini Moke while it’s charging overnight.
This belongs to a friend at the marina.
No one was hurt but the car needs a new paint job.
Oyster season is in. I’ll send some pictures from this coming weekend.

While I’m not much of a Simmons fan, they are really nice lookingThunderbirds. I could see myself picking one up someday. Enjoy!Speaking of my G2I Thunderbird, there she was, minutes after unboxing early last year- it was a good day!

I love how they sound, depending on how you mix and EQ the pickups-
Way back in early 2009 I had purchased my first quality bass, a Warwick Corvette Bubinga Fretless and had gotten acquainted with done members of the Warwick Bass Forum.
So a friend had recommended this song by Thomas Dolby, the bass comp and tone of which really blew me away, particularly the melodic line in the outro.
And I presented the song to someone on the Forum and asked what type of bass it was-
“Sounds like an out of phase Jazz” he replied.
So I got on eBay and eventually purchased the one I have.
And later verified when I saw Mark Hayward Chaplin, Dolby’s bassist at the time, playing, along with Dolby as a guest musician with Lene Lovich on the Dolby written song “New Toy”. And as you can see and hear. It’s a Jazz-
I'm with you on GS. I can't help but wonder if Gibson helped or hurt sales by having his name associated with it. A plus for a few, a turn off for more I would guess. While I’m not much of a Simmons fan, they are really nice lookingThunderbirds. I could see myself picking one up someday. Enjoy!

They (the Fenders) were anathema on the Warwick Forum when I first joined back in 2009, with at least one member starting that he hated them.I've no Fender basses and seldom play them, but I wouldn't expect lighter tuners to affect weight noticeably; on Thunderbirds it's about headstock weight and whether they tend to dive and how much. Overall weight on most basses is definitely impacted most by body wood (ahem) and size (ahem). Obvs a high mass bridge or heavy metal (in whatever sense 8^) neck [reinforcement] can make a detectable difference as well.

Well I had put mine away for nearly ten years until this past summer in favor of my Warwicks - then I suddenly found myself appreciating it.My comment was somewhat tongue-in- cheek. I've tried over many, many years and many, many basses to find a J which worked FOR ME with very little success, many of those were 5ers. I have a built J that's very nice (roasted body, roasted and highly flamed Musikraft neck, Dingwall switching and Aguilar pickups. It's a beautiful bass with a stunning neck. Had I never found Thunderbirds it would be a main player. As to the '66J, meh. The problem is I've never found a J that has the tight lows, strong mids with musical highs I crave. I've heard a few that sounded great, just none in my hands.
Now I’m thirsty. I need to pick up the ingredients for my favorite punch.I told you I was punch drunk.
Let me just say this- of the two signature Gibson instruments I own- the G2, the Lizzie Hale white Explorer, were not because of the musician’s musical prowess, but they did have good taste in instruments .I'm with you on GS. I can't help but wonder if Gibson helped or hurt sales by having his name associated with it. A plus for a few, a turn off for more I would guess.
bummer.....this would be outta the question huh?....30 minutes by tube from where we are at Earl's Court. Not sure the wife will take my leash off for the side trip![]()
Only saw him once. A friend a few years ahead of me from high school was a Forum Girl and snuck us in to see them. At times it appeared that he was using a recorded track. Since we didn’t have seats we just wondered around mingling with a bunch of stoned high school kids. Good Times!I'm with you on GS. Take your life back man! Easy for me to say…..30 minutes by tube from where we are at Earl's Court. Not sure the wife will take my leash off for the side trip![]()
What do you mean it needs new paint? A little cut and buff and it will be fine.Just a little public service advisory for George @GBassNorth

One bass I’ve never played is a Musicman. Just never particularly grabbed me although there are some notable players such as Bernard Edwards and Gail Ann Dorsey. My comment was somewhat tongue-in- cheek. Technically, this was supposed to be my wife’s retirement trip. So, she can call the shots. In reality, the school district offered her 60% of a years pay to work till June.Take your life back man! Easy for me to say…..
