Memory is the second thing to go Donnie. That ad ran constantly on the local San Diego channels when I was a kid.Good heavens, you're older than Mike? You're not that much older than me and all I recall around here was $99.

Now that I think about it- mine cost about a hundred dollars-Good heavens, you're older than Mike? You're not that much older than me and all I recall around here was $99.
My name is Carl, but that's OK.Memory is the second thing to go Donnie. That ad ran constantly on the local San Diego channels when I was a kid.
I had a Macco about 1990 for $119. It was a '80 Dodge St Regis with a 318. Best car I ever had. Other than the hood flew up while on the expressway and folded back over the windshield. That was an experience. Went to a junk yard and found one, put it on and had the whole thing painted. Actually a great paint job for the money. I was impressed. Now that I think about it- mine cost about a hundred dollars-
Not sure exactly. Funny thing is, my uncle was a prep guy (not for them) when he was in college. He prepped my grandma’s 65 Rambler and had Earl shoot it around ‘85. It actually looked pretty decent for about thee years. I don’t recall what he paid.Didn't he start out West? Cal maybe?
This one was plugged in, although like many bassist sidemen, he gets little footage, and what footage he gets is mostly in the shadows-
The bonus is Lene looks a lot cuter and winsome in this actual live clip than in the previous one.
Whereas the other was indeed a mime of the actual studio recording. But Mark is credited for the bass on the audio recording of "New Toy" that was written and produced by Thomas Dolby. And the tone on that track is very similar to the one on "Airwaves" from Dolby's Age of Wireless album.
There are some Bryan Ferry videos featuring bassists who did not even play on that given track, though they had worked with Bryan Ferry- so you are correct in asserting that what you see in a video is not necessarily what actually happened-
But I believe I made a reasonable assumption-
What's the first thing? ((maybe I. shouldn't have asked!!)Memory is the second thing to go Donnie. That ad ran constantly on the local San Diego channels when I was a kid.
Ahem.What's the first thing?
I must admit that I've never been to a large venue concert. I did see Allan Holdsworth in a small club once with Chad Wackerman on drums, and the bassist Jimmy Johnson was wielding an Alembic.Wild. My first arena concert was Lynyrd Skynyrd opening for the Who in November 1973. Leon and the Ox both spent plenty of time playing Thunderbirds. I already loved Firebirds, so the hook was set for the day I took up bass...
Did you visit Cormoron Strike’s office?Denmark St. pls.....

I wish I'd done that with the 66 EB-3 I(stupidly)sold. That happens to me regularly. I fall in love with a bass, play it for months/years and then something else catches my attention and I move on. Later I rediscover the one I loved before.

This hit pretty hard for me. Ace was the reason I first picked up a guitar.end of an era, farewell.....

Ace was the reason I first picked up a guitar.
