I was briefly into them when introduced to Kiss Alive 2, I’d guess I was about 9 or 10, but they never really stuck, and that was right at the beginning of me starting to discover all the (rock) music there was to discover in the mid-late ‘70’s.

If I were finished with the NR I would seriously consider that for some modding.A decent price for a Goth w/HSC. Bass has a few nicks but satin black is easy to repair/touch-up. Goth's used to be had for less than their asking price but prices these days have risen, some by a lot.

If you like a skinny neck, look for a later one from China. Post ‘13 or thereabouts. The first Chinese Goths still had the wider neck.

Yes, back when you could buy them (whole bass & necks) for cheap, I used them for modding. The body's are solid mahogany and the necks are maple/rosewood and vary over its production. (some baseball-bat, some shallower, some P-width nut, some J-width nut and different hs bevels) Also, a satin/matte finish is a good base for a re-fin.

Seeing Kiss in the Paramount is a strange juxtaposition. Maybe not quite as odd as seeing the Dead Kennedys and a bunch of other punk bands in the Beacon in New York, but close enough.
I missed a ship(sp?) load of concerts from '75-83ish 'cos the band(s) I was in worked six nights a week. After that, I was on the road in the 18 wheeler a lot(always had Saturdays off so I played with one of the bands).

In the '70s it hadn't been restored, so it was a bit tatty on the inside, however it was very good acoustically - not that it mattered when there was a wall of Marshalls and Ampegs on the stage, everything was loud!
I saw Blue Oyster Cult there at least twice, they were a great band back then.

I had a high school girlfriend who looked a lot like her. She turned out to be the crazy. Oh, well.
Finally re-strung my 2014 Anniversary Heritage Cherry Thunderbird last night at practice. I don't know what strings were on it (no cloth windings, brass ball ends) probably 105-45 nickels of some sort (my preference being 100-40). I really enjoyed the tone, which although on the darker side was quite powerful and punchy, perfect for Classic/Hard Rock.
Taking the advice of ya'll, I put steels on it. However I didn’t put SITs on it, but rather put my preferred round core DRs (in this case, Fat Beams). They really woke it up. In conjunction with my Steel Leather and SushiBox pedals (Per My Last Email and Underground Accelerator) growl, snarl and musical highs were all available. I didn't touch my tone knob, I was enjoying what was getting to much. I'm looking forward to seeing if I can get creamy deep lows back, that's a question for another day.

Not a bad price considering the case comes with it, great mod platforms. And for $5 you can do a simple tone cap mod that really makes the Goth a screamer.
