You need a Supertone Hipshot or a Babicz Bloodsucker, a claw, AND string holes. So Warmoth asks about the bridge regard to string through the body or not string through?
What do you think? All but one of my Fender basses are string throigh.

No wall art here. All mine get played.Sorry, I'm starting to feel like a contrarion here. I had a '76, gone, only miss the $ I could sell it for now. I would only similarly have a 60's vintage Thunderbird for the same reason. I love my 2014 because it is light, a beauty, sounds great, and I will play it anywhere, anytime. I don't need anymore wall art.
That's what I thought. Which clashes with this:

No issue with that. I get it. I enjoy different things about my main Thunderbirds. It’s a bit of a crazy hobby. But it keeps me out of trouble. Mostly anyway.Sorry, I'm starting to feel like a contrarion here. I had a '76, gone, only miss the $ I could sell it for now. Never went to any of mine. As I tell people, had to wait till the people I ran with got out of prison. I went to a couple of my wife's and fortunately she was had enough of that and never wanted to attend any others. As far as I know, we only had a 10 and 20 year reunion. I missed the 20. The 10 was interesting, to say the least.
Many of use were/are in that boat. Meanwhile, you are wildly popular here with the Thunderbird tribe!
Not sure what to make of that. I've never seen a 60s that didn't have a gut cut. Not that I recall anyway. Now nothing makes sense. That's what I thought. Which clashes with this:

He's here all week but give while you can.A Lull between Thunderbirds?
Hope you didn't pay much. Weird looking Pop-Tart.
In one of the pictures it does look like a belly cut, but it isn't obvious. I also haven't had any coffee yet so my brain may not actually be functioning. Not sure what to make of that. I've never seen a 60s that didn't have a gut cut. Not that I recall anyway. Now nothing makes sense.
Oh, Gibson....never mind.
If you stare at one of the pics, I believe you can see an outline of a cut.Not sure what to make of that. I've never seen a 60s that didn't have a gut cut. Not that I recall anyway. Now nothing makes sense.
Oh, Gibson....never mind.
At least it isn’t in that notorious den of iniquity out by Fontana.Antz...

My post sounded a little more harsh than intended. Except for 1 Dingwall which I occasionally play at home, all I play these days are my 2014 at practice and my 2019 VP at home. My 2014 and ThunderJ go to gigs. I have a backup (E1 with DiColas) at practice. 8 great basses hang on a wall at home (2 worth 5 and 7k respectively). And I wouldn't want to take a bass worth over $5k to a gig. Mad props to those who can/will...No wall art here. All mine get played.
Considering how difficult it is to drill them straight, if you think you're going to use them, agreed.Would it hurt anything to have it, just in case?
