Thunderbird Club

He’s currently looking at the Orange Crush 100watt 115 combo. Is there another combo out there he should consider that pairs well with the Thunderbird?

I have a 100 watt Ampeg RB 112 that I think is great sounding, and lightweight.

The RB115 is also 100 watt, with the option of getting to 200 watt with an 8 ohm extension cabinet. Not to mention the RB210 250w (500w with 8 ohm extension).

As some here know, my nephew is a guitar player and is branching out into the bass world. He plays in a worship band in Seattle and has asked what combo amp would be good for the bass I just made for him. He’s currently looking at the Orange Crush 100watt 115 combo. Seems to be a lot of love around here for Ashdown and Fender combos but not much talk about the Orange combos. Any suggestions or leads on good deals is appreciated.
I have a small Ampeg. Sounds really good for small combo. The other church has a Ampeg Rocket combo with a 115, I think. I played through it once I liked it. Not having played an Ashdown combo, if I needed one the Ambeg would be where I would start. They sound big and have good punch. Had mine for years and had zero trouble with it. Had a Rumble for a while and sold it. I liked it, then didn't. Go figure. Before that the last combo was an Acoustic decades ago but don't recall much about it. Not that you can get one.

I’d go Rumble but I know some don’t like them.

To @Nocturnal,

Happy birthday my friend!

Andy, have a great B’Day!!!

Happy Birthday Andy @Nocturnal

(But I thought it was a couple of weeks ago?)
Thanks my friends!

@RedVee I think you told me happy birthday a couple weeks ago, but it is actually today.

Because I behaved myself all year (riiiiiiight), I treated myself to an Ashdown Shavo sig model amplifier. It's basically the ABM600 EVO IV in a rackmount style, handwired in the UK custom shop. Not crazy about the name across the faceplate, but I do like the anodized red face. I picked this up after the shipping mishap with the standard ABM600 because I had my heart set on an Ashdown and I didn't want to let myself down.
