You, George, Marshall...not sure Chuck is in that ballpark...yet.Sheepishly looks around............

Speaking of phono preamps, this looks wild.I think the two best right now in receivers are Denon and Yamaha. And don't worry too much about a phono input. You can get better sound using an external phono preamp and running it into the receiver's aux input.

I haven't counted lately--but need to for insurance purposes. People often ask and I say I don't know because I haven't counted. It's around 15 I think. Almost certainly more.Same here.![]()

Put some old Mullards or RCA long black plates in an it will sing.Tubular dude.
Had one of those a couple jobs ago. Never could get the hang of how to answer calls on it.Home button on my Samsung G works great!![]()
Fosi makes great stuff. I have their Box X5. I also have a Schiit Mani 2, which I like better. Both are great, and pretty inexpensive. I had the Fosi first, but they have incredibly stupid placement of the ground terminal, so I got the Schiit, and well, it's the Schiit. Ground terminal in the proper place and it sounds much better with headphones. The highs were fatiguing with the Fosi.Speaking of phono preamps, this looks wild.

I don’t have a Denon receiver, but I have a Denon Amp and Denon CD player that I bought in the late 80s. Amp has been faultless, the CD player has an issue where the elastic band that moves the door in and out ages out every 20 years or so. I just get it fixed rather than buying anything new or going without.Yeah. There’s a budget Yamaha with decent specs that’ll need a preamp. I do like having an Toslink input though which the Onkyo has.
I’ll look closer at Denton. I really only need a 2 channel stereo though. Even then, I’m seeing them at around $500 for a Denon.
Marshall, this is one of our local chains. I assume it is very far from being authentic. I always get a naked burrito which I like - I must think it looks like more foodYep. Part.
Dual 1225 - the arm doesn’t drop correctly automatically anymore, but manageable in manual mode.I have a BIC 940 in a closet. The automatic changer mechanism is messed up. And I suppose the belt is likely crystalized.
Nice! I keep as many as I can out of their cases. It's a family weekend. Finally got everyone out of their cases to put up on the DiamondLife rack. If it's not out, you won't play it.

Whenever I get ribbed about have 25(ish) basses, I say at least it's not carsI KNOW I have a problem. But my bass problem is much cheaper than my car problem so there’s that.
Yes, I used that! (Cars and girlfriends - guitars and ukes are viewed as harmless in comparison)Whenever I get ribbed about have 25(ish) basses, I say at least it's not cars![]()
Funny you ask! In the photo are Ken Smith Rock Masters. The Hi-A pickups to me are pretty weird. I haven't been able to find something I really like on that bass yet. I've realized that there was something in the mids I didn't like in them, plus they're on the darker side, so remembering how much I hated the D'Addario Pro Steels on my Thunderbird because of their scooped nature, I just put a set (50-105) on the Bodine a little while ago BECAUSE of their scooped nature, and really like what I'm hearing and feeling. Pretty stiff. Definitely keeping these on to try out with the band.Nice! I keep as many as I can out of their cases.
What strings do you have on your Bodine?
