They were way overplayed at a time people still listened to the radio. And the Beatles comparisons turned me off. But they’re talented and have some great music. It’s good to see them reunited.

There were a lot of songs/bands that I might have liked if not for being over-played/over-saturated back when radio was the listening vehicle. As far as their reunion - I watched some live footage and the massive audience sang every word of their hit songs - loudly. It's like the brothers didn't even have to sing and they looked bored just going through the motions. Money most likely had everything to do with getting back together. It's how bands (remember bands?) made/make their income.

It's a great pop song no doubt. A good example of the obsession with the 50's that happened in the 70's

'80s too - Stray Cats come to mind. And modern Ska - more early '60s I guess... '80s was the "retro" decade.

The other thing that didn't "just work" was the lack of a USB A port. We couldn't connect the Roland drum brain because it required USB C to B cord. (Ended up using midi cables between his interface and the brain)

I guess I'm set in my ways. I'm still complaining about the lack of a home button on new phones. That was a useful feature IMO

I think in recent years some music is getting better.

There has always been good music out there, no matter what your favorite genre(s). What’s being pushed out to the masses is another thing.

So much music available now but the trick can be finding it. As someone who never typically liked the massive hit stuff (yes, many bands I like are/were very popular), I always founds the stuff I really loved through word of mouth, and many purchases at the record stores. Some of those purchases were disappointing, but there were so many hidden gems!

Now, for me, Pandora has been that “friend” that says, “hey, you might like this”. Some of my favorite music right now is from bands that were presented to me on Pandora because I created a “station”. Russian Circles Radio is something I listen to frequently while I’m puttering around in my garage. And with the shaping of the station by clicking “like” on the specific stuff I really like (and occasionally a thumbs down if I really don’t like a song), I have come across stuff I love and would not likely have heard of. Some of the bands aren’t even together anymore, but they had one or a few albums I’m happy I now know of and have purchased, ensuring I’ll always be able to listen to it.

Good and great music is and has been out there.

The missing home button threw me for a bit. But I guess once the muscle memory faded it was no longer an issue.

Ah, then you changed it. Trackpads are their own use case. Another way to right click that's existed since at least back to OS 9 is to hold down Control when you click. As for the USB thing, that's annoying, but that's the whole industry. It's all moving to USB-C. All the newer Windows laptops we get in at work are USB-C-only.

I have heard of them and likely heard a few of their songs somewhere, but wouldn't know one if I heard it. For a while I thought they were kind of a Jazz(ish) band. Come to think of it during that time (late 80 on), I kind of gave up on listening to what was coming out. I think in recent years some music is getting better.

I'll take yer word for that. I haven't found any, but TBH I haven't looked. There's plenty from the 60's-80's on Sirius/XM to listen to. Unfortunately-for me anyway-they change the 40's(Big Band, etc.)channel to all Christmas/Holiday 'stuff'.

The USB connectors you see everywhere that are rectangular in shape and can only go in one way are USB-A. The current and latest USB connectors everyone is now using are a lot smaller and kinda oval-shaped. That's USB-C.
