Thunderbird Club

I'm feeling really stupid tonight...

Because I'm generally pretty bright, mechanically.

But I can't for the life of me figure out how these brackets are supposed to fit in these tracks: They seem about a sixteenth too tall when in the top track, to clear the bottom edge of the bottom track.

Even with force.

What am I missing here? Besides a normal complement of neurons, I mean?

And are the aluminum tracks supposed to fit so loosely in the slots in the particle board? There's like, visible play.
I have had my slat and hangers for probably 7 years so my hangers are different than yours. They are more rounded off on the bottom and there is nothing that would go into the bottom track. @BklynKen has a recent model so he would likely know if there was play in the tracks on his. I don't honestly remember there being slack/play, but it has been a while.

Happy birthday to the one and only Chick Magnet! 🎂
Is it Miles Birthday today?
If so, I’m in good company! Just received my Bicentennial Tbird pickups, perfect timing, installing them on my birthday today. Can’t wait to hear how she sounds, I’ll be using a variable tone cap so should be able to fine tune very close the sound of my black bicentennial bird.

You are at the current epicenter... and I'm not takin' Epi-phone! 😳
Well, at least they are moving west along the Coyote Creek ravine. This is the last 24 hours. The initial swarm in November was pretty much on top of me.

Wow. If anyone, you can pull it off!

If you need my help.... You are in bad shape.

You can do it!

If anyone can, it would be you. Me, not even close on my best day.

It doesn't need to be perfect. I just try to get the signature stuff down.
thx for the vote of confidence guys, you're awesome to say the least.....not surprisingly, none of the two were performed opting for Elvis Presley Christmas carols instead.... great night, took a bit to warm the crowd but pretty rocking all in all....

Twins! Happy b-day.

Thanks, but I had.

They just show them dropping into place as you'd expect to happen.

Guess I'll be on the phone to the mfg on Monday; their support line is closed on weekends.

I got 2 tracks and 10 hangers.

Of the two tracks, only 1 of the four metal channels is loose, but its like 1/8th inch of play the whole length.

And none of the hangers will fit in the tracks.

Most puzzling.

Difficult to explain how it could even be so. Would require pretty surprising machining mess up.
Any chance you have the tracks upside down? At least with the all-aluminum ones I have, there is a top and bottom. As far as wobble, the hangers don't sit really tightly in there, but they have those set screws to keep them in place once you find their spot.

I have three different generations of hangers.
That’s what I need to find. A Celtic / Folk group or club.
I’ll be getting more active in the one up at the mountain in the spring.

Something’s up side down.

Yep, we share it. Happy birthday!

You attach them to the wall by drilling through the tracks. Attach into at least two studs; one near either end at the very least. The more into studs the better. And attach by drilling through the tracks into mollies at a couple other places. The brackets will fit properly when you insert into the tracks and the end, then slide across into position (kind of a “duh” moment for me).

I acutely have three different gens of the brackets, the latest with the set screws are by far the best.

Quite possibly. Im going from the orientation of the logo stickers... one of which is crooked. 🫤

They must've hired the guy who made my bass kit.

Between selling price and shipping, you'd think after dropping more than 5 bills on these premium goods, they'd be assembled right.

They are not what you'd call complex of design.

Trying to decide between waiting til Monday when maybe I can call (while on jury duty, tra-la) or spending my time to fix... knowing that return shipping will be a real hassle given the size.
