I'm feeling really stupid tonight...
Because I'm generally pretty bright, mechanically.
But I can't for the life of me figure out how these brackets are supposed to fit in these tracks: They seem about a sixteenth too tall when in the top track, to clear the bottom edge of the bottom track.
Even with force.
What am I missing here? Besides a normal complement of neurons, I mean?
And are the aluminum tracks supposed to fit so loosely in the slots in the particle board? There's like, visible play.

Many years ago I made a very cute GF a gift of a model of that exact T-bird (blk w/red interior) in a burgundy velvet lined dark varnished wooden box where the model just fit inside. I think she must have mentioned wanting a T-bird.., it's kind off a surreal gift thinking back on it... I wonder if she still has it?Does it get any better than this?

They just show them dropping into place as you'd expect to happen.
Guess I'll be on the phone to the mfg on Monday; their support line is closed on weekends.
I got 2 tracks and 10 hangers.
Of the two tracks, only 1 of the four metal channels is loose, but its like 1/8th inch of play the whole length.
And none of the hangers will fit in the tracks.
Most puzzling.
Difficult to explain how it could even be so. Would require pretty surprising machining mess up.
For the record, I'm saving this pic in case the wife asks how many basses I own. "Shoot, nothing like this dude! Clearly has an addiction."
But I'm not too far behind.

I don't like looking at charts when playing. But for church I gave up trying to memorize 4-5 songs every week. The one's we do more often (still months apart) I don't have to look down as much.
I found that if I learn a song by ear I remember it. Once I start cheating and looking at charts my brain gets lazy(er).
Hate that. They were something I was never interested in. But J.T. mentioned having one of these from the early 60s and uses it live. A Hofner President I could be interested in.Hofner is in trouble
