Thunderbird Club

I friend at church and his wife travel a good bit. While away he posts a lot of pics from home and once home posts pics of their trip. He was in charge of UPS data security world wide and really thinks through security issues. When they are gone no one is at home, which is up on a hill on a small farm out from the city.
Damn good idea. If I ever went anywhere (I don't), I'd try that.

I turned off notifications and just check Watched Threads every day to see which of the few I participate in have new posts. Less email.
I'm "in" 9+ threads. Usually I get notifications, but when I haven't seen any new ones(like Rumble Club or here), I check "Watched threads".

I want to say "Thank you" to all of you great folks for another year. It's a nice place to be because you all make it so.
May 2026 be joyous for you all and your families.

Having trouble deciding which bass(es) to bring for my B-day gig/party tomorrow. I never bring two basses to a show - I've only done it on my B-day at Winters'.

Narrowed it down to three -

'92 Steve Klein - specifically for two of our new songs to be previewed tomorrow - an odd duck visually but damn what a great bass! I recently lucked into it. It's a very rare (#003) collectable bird. Tomorrow's show is a great opportunity to hear the two songs live playing this bass before recording so as to determine how it sounds for those songs. I consider it my B-day gift to myself.

And another odd duck! '80s Soviet era Tonika - this is one rockin' CCCP machine comrade! :bassist: (replete with imbedded Lenin propaganda enameled badges) We're going
to play "Back in the USSR" in tribute...

And the bass that I've played/recorded w/TSC since the beginning - my Teiscobird. The CCCP-bass is very similar sounding/playing (raw and characteristically distinctive; buckers rock - singles rock harder!) but the TB has a Hipshot drop-D which I utilize effectively for Heroes. Out of the three it's a mainstay bass for TSC. (lives at our rehearsal space) The other two are for specific songs based on their sonic character.

Happy birthday, @JIO ! At least it is here. All kinds of fireworks for your birthday here. Hopefully not so much there.
Thanks man, more fireworks than I'd prefer Miles (at 10:26) - it's the way it goes living in the Mission SF... however, I watched a cell-phone vid of fireworks happening in Naples (Italy) tonight! :jawdrop: (we have friends there) The (Napoleons) apparently take fireworks seriously!
