Happy 2026 to you all. The pathological optimist says it will be far better than recent times. I am currently about as far west as is possible in the US, so nearly everyone will enjoy 2026 for at least a couple hours before it gets here.

Putting up with 2025 for an extra couple hours is OK because it meant I got to swim with warm water fishes for the last couple days.

While I can sorta appreciate it for anyone who likes that sorta thing, I wouldn't want it on a bet. If it ain't mahogany. it ain't sh!t.

And finally what is your favorite song? As an avowed Beatles fan, I thought it would be one of their's, but upon reflection, shockingly mine is McArthur Park (I know, I know, many hate it). But it touches a chord within me, and also takes me back 50 years to a time and place.

My 67 NR TBird-favorite and best (although it needs some work beyond my ken right now). Favorite song-"Ballet For a Girl In Buchannon"-Chicago.
FYI, I used to do McArthur Park with a quartet in Miami in 77. Yes, I could/still can hit the last high note.
