Bonne Année
GEO worked his magic and the winder in the neck position of that 2013 IV, ended up in this BaCH II...,he may remember what was used....Thanks Chuck, that would be very helpful.
I installed my standard selection of 500k vol and 250k tone with a .047 cap. But Marshall seemed to recall the original Bi Birds had a 250k VVT layout, I’ve even seen at least one schematic that lists 100k for all three pots. Those all have pretty profound impacts on the tone of the bass so I’d like to get my BaCH as close as possible to the original Bi Birds from the 1970’s.
…that would most likely be the Brent Spence Bridge and the Cork & Bottle Liquor Store.
Please let me know when you’re heading down Geo. Party at George’s!My friend Andrew wants to drop something off at Pat's so we also would like to visit/hang in early '26.
I can believe that. My daughter just moved to a different apartment in East Boston. Her rent is ridiculous. She needs to be close to the airport so she puts up with the noise. And still pays way too much.Rhode Island is now ranked as the most unaffordable state in the union for renters.
That’s always way up there on my great songs list, but I don’t know that it’s ever been my favorite. Two country songs that sometimes vie to be my favorite:
Yes it is - I think we do it justice!
Here's the version we learned from a GREAT GC performance on "Later with Jools Holland" -
And a very happy birthday to you my friend!Everyone around the world celebrates my B-day!![]()

It’s still hit or miss for me with the Mesa Subway thread. But I’ll get out of the blue notifications for postings to what are pretty much zombie threads now and then. Weird.FWIW, been catching up. TB wasn't giving me notifications of TBird Club postings for awhile. PIMA!.
Me too. I had a “use it or lose it” wellness benefit at work that had to be spent by 12/31.I just ordered a couple of goodies from Sweetwater, saving a bit of money by squeaking in under the New Year tripwire. More deets when they arrive!
Hey Geo, Happy Birthday pal.Everyone around the world celebrates my B-day!![]()

It's just bloated inflation... In RI we have more coastline than California, and it's slowly squeezing everyone out. There's new construction all over it, and the money is dizzying. The attitude towards it from those of us who can't afford to walk out and see the ocean anymore (never mind pay our rent in the city without a cold sweat looming near), is palpable.I can believe that. My daughter just moved to a different apartment in East Boston. Her rent is ridiculous. She needs to be close to the airport so she puts up with the noise. And still pays way too much.
I didn't know or recall there was a sidewinder set. Mine are typical Thunderbird pups (non-sidwinders).

Seconded (or whatever #).Happy and hopefully prosperous new year to everyone!
And Happy Birthday @JIO . Have a good show, and hoping for a nice turnout for you today.
Now this is interesting.Yes, they offer their take on regular humbuckers (Alneo) or the Bicentennial style:

Sounds good! I have a bass body (The ThumbDerBird) I need to drop off with Pat for finishing. Let’s set a date for sometime in January and include Marshall. I have three guest rooms, so no need to get a hotel. My friend Andrew wants to drop something off at Pat's so we also would like to visit/hang in early '26.
My recollection on the initial design discussion was that 916 was surprised the pots were 100k on the schematic. Don’t know if he modified his pickups to work better with that oddball pot value or if they were ok as is. I’ve seen at least two schematics calling for 100k pots on the Bi Bird, but I’m looking for a physical measurement or visual confirmation before I make the change. Seems to me that a pot value that low would really put a wet blanket on the tone of the bass, so I just want to be certain before making the change.I getting a set of bicentennial replicas made by 916 Pickups here in CA. Not going to hold out for an original set.
916 provides a schematic and recommends 100k audio for both volumes and tone, and a .047 cap. I also have another schematic showing the same.
Are your 916’s the bicentennial set?
