that drawing is confusing, at first glance it should not work.....gonna sketch out the 79.....No clue. I have read a lot of conflicting stuff on bicentennial wiring, pots, and the cap. About the only thing I am certain about is that Bill Lawrence originally designed the pickups. Another complication is that many owners reportedly modded bicentennials chasing real or imagined tone from the early sixties birds, or some other tone.
I am not at all certain that my ‘77 is wired as it came stock. But I do know that I really like the tone.
Hah! I do too - it's just which notebook did I write it in!I always keep notes on the work I do for people. It’s come in quite handy at times.
That schematic is different than my 1979 wiring, which looks all original and visually matches all the other Bi Birds I’ve seen.that drawing is confusing, at first glance it should not work.....gonna sketch out the 79.....
Hah!... yah, some people will be starting their day around 3pm! I sincerely hope not to make the few who do show up die! What's best about it is no pressure - no set list/'round robin' and previewing 4 new original songs, 3 of which have never been played in public. That and hangin' with my bandmates and having friends in attendance.
Have a great 2026 Roger!
Happy Birthday Geo!
Give me some time - I'll run it down!Ha! was hoping you could remember....
Happy Bday Mr. K!!

Happy birthday @JIO! With many more to come.
Same one’s I have, you’re going to love them.
Worthy attempt, but I can't say this is true of mine. I'm about 95% certain they are not louder and without question are not fuller or fatter sounding that my '64 (the Thunderbird or the old Epi), and about the same as the first gen 760s from what I can tell A/B-ing. Likely didn't have a '64 on hand all the time to compare and no doubt a tough thing to pull off either way.Yes, they offer their take on regular humbuckers (Alneo) or the Bicentennial style:

You never know what magical unexpected moments can happen when you put musicians that haven't rehearsed together on a stage. Sending positive vibrations in your direction! Thanks Irv - breaking news is our drummer is sick and can't make the gig today. A slim chance I can convince our old drummer Steve to drive up from Santa Cruz.., in the rain.., over twisty/hilly HW17... probably not. Things happen...
So easy, and I never thought of doing that!I saved a bookmark that is under the address bar with "Thunderbird Club" and this as the address. Always takes me to where I left off.

I would absolutely love it if Steve could attend - he, Paul & I started TSC 10yrs ago this year! But whatever happens (or doesn't).., happens... (or doesn't happen! You never know what magical unexpected moments can happen when you put musicians that haven't rehearsed together on a stage. Sending positive vibrations in your direction!
