Thunderbird Club

There's a guy who makes custom no drill thumbrests. I got one for my long departed Squire VM Jaguar SS. Looked good. Zero Mod is the name of the place.

When I got the custom PG for my TBird, I didn't have it drilled for the tug bar, which I saved and added to my '09 Epi EB-0-with screws, though.

I have used his stuff before, it work well on unmodified basses and the applications that are typical. For the Epi and Gibson I pictured, it’s not typical, and he doesn’t make what I need. Also, his stuff is kinda big, and doesn’t really put the rest where I want it. I mostly just want to get a little more away from the bridge than where using the bridge pickup puts my fingers.

That was on a K-Tel style compilation cassette I got as a kid. Rock Explosion. 😊
I played the snot out of that cassette. It was probably my only one at the time. 🤣

This is it!

I still have my vinyl copies of K-Tel's "Fantastic" and Ronco's 'Get It On'.
Probably worn beyond all playability. We did indeed play the snot out of them!

I discovered that 15mm vinyl "thread protector" caps (I would have called the 'vacuum caps') fit perfectly over the plastic knobs of the DiamondLife hangers. Amazonable for a few bucks.

The knobs are plastic, but I also like a little bit more squooshy on there, and this lets me keep the rubber 'retainer.'

And undyed pigskin, suede side out, made into a cover for the foam, has my Thunderbuddy happeh in hees pantalones...

did you get the EB with the Hipshot installed?

Music was allowed to be funny back then, and still be popular.

Jim Stafford had his own variety show at one point. His "Wildwood Weed" was played mainstream.

Hee Haw...

...and lest we forget: "My Girl Bill."

I had COMPLETELY forgotten about "Swamp Witch," but after the first three notes the entire thing played in my mind note for note as if I had heard it yesterday.

Thanks for the memory!
