Thunderbird Club

I added an edit to my original post:

“Someone like Chuck is, as I define it, a true “musician” as are others here.

I am someone who plays music on the bass guitar.

Not being down on myself, this is just how I define it.”

Appreciate what you said though.
Interesting opinion Rich, not one that we share however, I'm with Irv, if you can play notes in time on an instrument which you definitely can, you're a musician....don't forget the tempered scale is man made....music like math, explains itself....

Snapped these pictures of one of those social/party tour boats as it passed by last foggy night- I only wish I could have zoomed in on my iPhone 16E so you could see it the way I did- pretty striking - I'll do some research on the 16E and see what kind of options are available- thinking they'll be better than my 12 Mini- Also I'll try night mode-

I remember taking great night pictures back in the 1980's with a manual SLR equipped with a shutter hold open setting, a remote trigger cable, and a tripod using Kodachrome 64. Great stuff, no wonder Paul Simon dedicated a song to it!

I do have a Canon T2I DSLR in storage and some tripods- I guess ought to bring it and try to get some better night shots-

I'll take the fog over a sand storm blowing in from the Sinai.

But some shots have come off pretty well with the iPhone- this one from the companionway with my 12 mini of the moon and Venus (diagonal down on the right) a few years ago - Eye in the Sky!

Was doing morning stretches before going to the gym when I noticed something cool about the 4 inch wide Richter 4 strap I bought to replace another that had begun shedding trim material everywhere and making a mess-

Don't remember what I had it on before but it was nice to be able to quickly adjust to the Precision to lower it a bit- and I notice that the lower strap section had five different holes to choose from before having to change the anchor point-

I later purchased a 4.5 inch wide Levy's strap to accommodate my truly heavy basses- the Bubinga bodied Warwicks, which even the four string Corvette is heavy. I remember thinking Good Lord! as I carried it the 50 yards or so from my space in the parking garage to the condo entrance-

But the Levy is a bit lacking in quick change points - having merely two- Still it's a great strap, and a bit longer than the Richter. But thus far length hasn't been issue for me, even with my G2 Thunderbird.
I have a few straps with multiple peg-holes in the lower length. Since I don't ride my basses low, I've developed this handy trick to loop the cord through using the Dunlop Straplok system. In the past I would just cut off the excess but this method takes advantage of it.

The previous bearer of the Richter strap- a couple of years ago when I first tried to hash out guitar chords and leads for my one metal song thus far. Not that the V isn't just as comfortable with atmospheric jazz -

-- I had to move down a hole or two to fit the Precision but it was a pretty quick adjustment-

That was back in early-2024 at my drummer bro's place- here you see amp row where I was doing sound checks- but my little Vox AC4TV with its 12AX7 and EL 84 tubes was the one that sounded like a million bucks-

You just triggered a memory- from a guitar aficionado friend who loves all things Gibson arcana- shared on Instagram a couple of years ago-

that's even nicer...more to form...
the neck on this suspiciously resembles the one on the NR that's part of the allure...

Awesome. Who does your recording?
For everything else we have done and are in the process of doing, we have used Bart Thurber, and some tracks being recorded by my vocalist from Bad Lemon, then mixed/Mastered by Bart.

But for Ohio, we used a guy up the the La Honda hills: SLOTH MOUNTAIN STUDIOS
