The '21 is leaning back a bit and making it look shorter. It may be, but not that much.

Not only much thicker neck, but body as well. An attempt to mitigate ND I suppose. But seriously, but build them like the one's people seek out.

I did put the new set of La Bella DTFs on the '21 for last night and really loved it. D and G a little bright with a pick, but they were on the bass for a day, so in a month or so they will be maturing nicely.
I can say the pups in '21 are likely a little higher output than those in the '66. Not a problem because amps have knobs for that, just an observation.

Took the time tonight to hack & hog out the pickup cavities on my Ungothed Tbird to install my newly received modern TBird + pickups (Thanks @Ringhammer !!). After much fuss in the brittle/dry epi body, they're wired up to the single killswitch, & i gotta say, they're much clearer than i had imagined!

Yes against the 60's RI alnico 5 pickups they're much more low mid heavy, where the 60's have unparalleled clarity. With no EQ tweaks to my solid state 70s peavey head, the 60s is classy with a hint of hidden tricks. The Pluses are very meaty & growl, the 60s pack punches & grind. Which one will end up in the new maple bodied Tbird build/revamp, most likely the 60's RI. However, i'm toying the idea of building another bird variant for myself using the Modern TB + set.

I'm curious, anyone with a gibson blackbird with original "deep sixx" pickups could confirm their Kohms rating per pickup? My 60's RI are 8.36k & 8.45K, while the TB+ are 9.61k (modern 2023 build), & 9.77k (from a 97 gibson bird).

Oh, then I better not add that its bite can kill in 15mins.
They have small fangs so you barely know you were bitten, and With no symptoms for for the first 13 mins so that you don’t go to hospital.
But the last x minutes before death are terrible…

Still come, but if you see a brown snake (they aren’t always brown in colour though) give it a wide berth

PS: the Inland Taipan is more venomous, enough to kill 100 adult humans. But you don’t see those unless you go out into the desert areas. Which I don’t do. 🤣
But Eastern Browns, yeah they are around, but the most common venomous snake near me is the RedBellied Black snake. Lots of them is scrubby areas. Pretty bad but a brown could take one out without raising a sweat.

I’m no hero, I just give all snakes a wide berth. I don’t wait to enquire whether they are venomous or not.

How did you like the DR Legends?

Not my thing. Not on the '21 anyway. Grippy and you can feel the spaces/windings, unlike La Bella or GHS. I will try them on something else. They are round core and supposedly more more flexible. Felt like typical 105 strings. La Bella Low Tension are flexible, but not like TIs.

My JC came with TI’s. They took some getting used to compared to EBCF and Power Flat.
