Thunderbird Club

eavey used to be warm SS amps. I would look at these as well. Peavey said sometime back they were listening to players and seeking to up their game. Very affordable. May sound awful, but all of their old heads and combos sounded good from what I remember.

Indeed. At the end of the world....

I know, it's AI, things are weird.

I'll give you $1,300 for it so you can snag the new NR and $100 profit.

(I know you called me bad names when you read that!)

What's wrong with the 67 (if you want to share)? I know you mentioned the bridge pup before.
Thanks, I think not. And no I didn't call you any names.

I've got the action on the 67 as low as I can get it, but it's still too high-I think the truss rod is about maxed out. If I was having work done, I'd have them at least look at the superfluous pup. Might just need a pot or something simple. Or not. The damage to the lower bout just gives it "mojo", so I wouldn't sweat that. It may be kinda ugly but unless one is on the floor looking up at its underside, ya can't see it-and I sure can't while playing it.

With the TR being maxed, you might find or make a small washer to give some extra room for the nut to do it's thing. Assuming it's got too much relief. I made (adapted) a washer for my '76. Problem there is the wood is bulging out. So more turning = as much bulging as adjusting. In a sense, I should adjust it and let it reasonably bulge. When I'm "not playing" I won't care and won't care what it brings.

If you think a washer would help, I can fix a couple up for you to see if it will help. More than happy to do it.

I appreciate the offer. However, b/c the headstock has had repairs, including re-attachment, I don't trust myself to f---* with it and possibly (OK, likely) destroy it. The shop would have to fix whatever they'd break.

A kinder, gentler, and safer time. I cannot even imagine what hooking up with a girl in a bar in Europe would be like today.
I assume it would be very similar to what it was like then. It was the first and only time I have ever been viewed as some kind of exotic person. Everywhere else, I'm just some rube from the woods who fell off the turnip truck.

I thought very seriously about never leaving Norway.

Back in the early-90's when I was finishing my undergraduate degree after a nearly five year hiatus in the Navy, there was a girl in one of my classes whom the others referred to as Olson. Don't remember if it was her first or last name, but she had milk white hair, blue eyes, and a very fair complexion.
The really striking Norwegians that I remember had very black hair to go along with intense blue eyes. There's probably some historic story behind how that happens there.

Heathkit, Acoustic, SWR, Ampeg, Mesa, Ashdown - owned a few small amps along the way (Fender, Polytone) but these are the main amps I have used/use.
It's probably pretty much a no brainer to figure out what amps I use these days. And always have. Although Ashdown has a sound I really like. Old Peaveys sound good, too, but they are even heavier than an old Acoustic. That's saying something.

make sure you don't leave that bridge cover on when shipping back to me as I heard they're hard to come by.....

Ok, long as it will fit the '64 you traded it for :woot:

I didn’t wanna leave Germany, but here we are.
