aren't those short scale (studio?) reverses set neck as well?I would agree about the EMG's, I do actually like them my Jackson has them as the stock pickups, it was the fact that Mr YouTube had replaced the stock Gibson on his 202X NR with them.

good memory Ecto...I purchased the Vintage 1000 to replace the ailing 10+ year old Little Markbass 800 I'm waiting parts for.....not a real rush....were commenting yesterday on the what seems like endless headroom from the combo....only gripe with that Vintage is the lack of a mute button....other than that, great product, as mentioned earlier, never envisioned myself doing small bar gigs with a 1kW rig.... in comparison, SVT: 300W @265lbsGreat picture Chucky. Is that the Markbass head that you repaired, or is it an alternate? Or am I mis-remembering an issue you never had? I'm curious because I may get something similar someday because of the light weight.
OTOH, if they are willing to fake a Gibson logo, faking Country of Mfg would probably not trouble them overmuch, I'd guess.Interestingly enough, I just ran across this very cheap sold in China but made in Korea (which could be good as Korean products are superior to China crap) clones of that bass! Of course it has a counterfeit Gibson decal as there are no pics of the hs face. Plus, not seeing the hs makes one wonder which version it is.
Maybe, but it's the first time I've seen a China sold product being advertised as MIK.OTOH, if they are willing to fake a Gibson logo, faking Country of Mfg would probably not trouble them overmuch, I'd guess.
Part of the a Albertsons/Safeway supermarket company. What's Vons? If it's a booze emporium, it ain't here.
It is a “Professional”Interestingly enough, I just ran across this very cheap sold in China but made in Korea (which could be good as Korean products are superior to China crap) clones of that bass! Of course it has a counterfeit Gibson decal as there are no pics of the hs face. The body shape is slightly different - especially on the controls bout. It doesn't appear to be a set-neck judging from the back pics.
Yes, both the Studio and short scale Birds are set neck, not a new concept for Thunderbirds as you well knowaren't those short scale (studio?) reverses set neck as well?

Hah! Probably the same bass - "Korean made bridge"... the other one left off 'bridge' ~
Same here. I already have to move my Roland RD700 and stand it on its end to make room for our keyboard player when my cover band is rehearsing.I love a Rhodes but must content myself with virtual versions at this time.
That means its had three performances. It is a “Professional”
Bass.
I am still figuring out the EMGs in my Jackson fiver. Sometimes I like 'em, sometimes I do not. They have a scooped quality that doesn't sound good alone but sounds almost like a Precision in a mix. How does that work?I would agree about the EMG's, I do actually like them my Jackson has them as the stock pickups, it was the fact that Mr YouTube had replaced the stock Gibson on his 202X NR with them.
It could be a mod platform if it plays well.Interestingly enough, I just ran across this very cheap sold in China but made in Korea (which could be good as Korean products are superior to China crap) clones of that bass! Yeah, I was trying to be objective but he lost me personally right there!Seriously, he replaced the stock Gibson pickups in a new Non Reverse with EMG's? G.T.F.O.
I considered going to see Stevie Ray when he toured w/Jeff Beck in the late '80s. The show was on a Wednesday and involved a long drive. It was a work day so I passed... and shortly thereafter - Stevie Ray passed. I generally don't entertain regret - but that would have been a memorable show.
He’s apparently replaced them in a number of birds (and yes, that one’s egregious). I wouldn’t want to sell him a ‘64.I would agree about the EMG's, I do actually like them my Jackson has them as the stock pickups, it was the fact that Mr YouTube had replaced the stock Gibson on his 202X NR with them.
Might they have added the back panel to make it look neck through?Interestingly enough, I just ran across this very cheap sold in China but made in Korea (which could be good as Korean products are superior to China crap) clones of that bass! Possibly but I loathe counterfeits. It could be a mod platform if it plays well.
Huzzah! Congratulations! Perfect bass to vault back in with.Well, I'm back in the club. At GC Nashville supporting my friend who's in a drum off today, and came across an Epi 64 in the Zzounds exclusive metalflake purple finish. Photos later after I get home and polish it up.![]()
