Was yours this light? When I oil mine it doesn't really darken and.
Ah, I know...some Valvoline after I do the next oil change!

I recall it was really light and really dry. Maybe a hair darker than that before I oiled it.

Reminds me of this.Yeah.
I'm going to sit still and play what I've got. I've got a couple I'm selling, and I look forward to playing, making what I've got work. Get happy.
Truth is there's no useless unhappiness quite like running after what you ain't got.
My band's new single is out today!
That's a cool bass, and I kind of like the fact that because the bridge is so far forward on the body you end up with a left hand reach to first position like a 34" scale bass. But, your fretting hand is dealing with a short scale. Funny combination of elements- how are you liking it?NBD - the “Thunderbird” has landed…

A Gretch Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass. It dates as a 2012 model made in Japan one of very very few made, most were guitars. It’s in pretty good shape and all original. Confirmed it’s not a clone or Chinese copy. Plays nice with a super low action but is in need of some warmer strings, it has stainless rounds at the moment. A 30” scale but looks and reaches like a 34”, nice access all the way to the 24th fret is a plus. The only thing that’s missing is a screw on the pick guard. I have some La Bella Black nylon tape wound strings that might sound interesting on this bass.
Certainly a different look and sound than a normal thunderbird, but if George Jetson were building a bird it would probably look a lot like this. Also kinda reminds me of an old Cadillac fender wing.
Not just T-birds -It’s amazing what some people do to Thunderbirds.
Teisco did this in the mid '60s. My short-scale EB200 Del Rey is as long as a Fender bass - a very easy bass to play and sounds as good as any full-scale bass. That's a cool bass, and I kind of like the fact that because the bridge is so far forward on the body you end up with a left hand reach to first position like a 34" scale bass. That's a cool 'Bird!Thunderbird Ho!

That's for those weirdos who care about being in tune. How do you adjust intonation?
Whoever voted to bring in a Taco Bell maven to Cracker Barrel needs to be kicked off the board. I was never a Cracker Barrel fan, but I know a lot of people who are, and she made them all unhappy with the brand. That Cracker Barrel CEO is a piece of work. The chain was known for using fresh ingredients. When she got there, she closed several locations, transitioned to mostly frozen heat and serve dishes, and there was the logo debacle. It’s amazing she’s still there. She came from that institution of culinary delight, Taco Bell.
Two cool birds. That's a cool 'Bird!
Yeah the bass too!Two cool birds.
Clever idea (making it longer/look longer), and I have been lurking, kinda looking for one for several years. Then I stopped when I realized I have 14 very good basses and 10 superb basses, of which I only play 7. Unlike most of ya'll, I only have not a great deal of years left to enjoy playing what I have as much as I should, much less get more. I'm happy for the rest of you who do.NBD - the “Thunderbird” has landed…

I'm shooting for at least 120. Aim high!... I have been lurking, kinda looking for one for several years. 120 basses?I'm shooting for at least 120. Aim high!
To still be around, playing Thunderbird, riding bikes, etc at 120 years old.120 basses?
I liked Cracker Barrel in the 90's through the early-2000's then something went wrong. The food no longer had that taste of fresh-cooked or made ingredients.Whoever voted to bring in a Taco Bell maven to Cracker Barrel needs to be kicked off the board. I was never a Cracker Barrel fan, but I know a lot of people who are, and she made them all unhappy with the brand.
I figured that was the case, but I rarely pass the chance at a bit of humor. I certainly wish you a 120 years. To still be around, playing Thunderbird, riding bikes, etc at 120 years old.
I'm content (for now, anyway) with 6 basses.
