Yeah.Good move. That bridge body is buggard up, the bolts are toast as are the inserts. The only real value in the bass is the pickups and those can be purchased brand new on eBay for under $100.
The switch box down the hill from us flooded years ago and corroded all the terminals. AT&T never bothered to fix it, so moved to coax Internet and VOIP a long time ago. The only thing we use copper for is distributing the VOIP to jacks where we don't have wireless phone connections.Got copper?

The copper shutdown is coming for your building systems - Spiceworks
FCC copper shutdowns threaten fire and elevator systems. IT must audit and replace these critical lines now to avoid a rushed, 90-day transition scramble.www.spiceworks.com
What the huh?Last bit on this, here's the bridge. Turns out someone put the wrong size threaded bridge retaining bolts into the threaded inserts, and they are apparently cross-threaded. This is as far down as they can go, the action is, I'm told, high.

I don't think I have time for this. I've got enough to do, really, with that refinish to the old Heckinecker I've got going.
run awayHey you guys, need some keen discernment here. I'm looking at a used Epi 64 and there's some finish cracking at the back of the neck near the headstock. Any thoughts on this?

From the picture - that area suffered some sort of fall or impact, buckling the finish. Assessing the damage to the neck will require removing the finish. There's a chance the neck is not cracked, but there's also a chance it is.Yeah I'm not an expert on finishes, but what bothers me is that they're up by the headstock.
Unfortunately such DIY hacks are not unusual ...That’s just bizarre.
My band's new single is out today!
Posted b4 I saw the other pics.Agreed. Could be a fairly easy repair if the price is right enuff.

How do you adjust intonation?NBD - the “Thunderbird” has landed…

A Gretch Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass. It dates as a 2012 model made in Japan one of very very few made, most were guitars. It’s in pretty good shape and all original. Confirmed it’s not a clone or Chinese copy. Plays nice with a super low action but is in need of some warmer strings, it has stainless rounds at the moment. A 30” scale but looks and reaches like a 34”, nice access all the way to the 24th fret is a plus. The only thing that’s missing is a screw on the pick guard. I have some La Bella Black nylon tape wound strings that might sound interesting on this bass.
Certainly a different look and sound than a normal thunderbird, but if George Jetson were building a bird it would probably look a lot like this. Also kinda reminds me of an old Cadillac fender wing.
Probably just angle the bridge so you get the E and G strings, and you end up approximating the A and D strings... That's typical for lots of short scale basses with the one-piece wooden bridge. How do you adjust intonation?
It looks like the bridge posts would prevent the rotation of the base.Probably just angle the bridge so you get the E and G strings, and you end up approximating the A and D strings... That's typical for lots of short scale basses with the one-piece wooden bridge.
Fretboard oil. I load it up and let it soak for hours, then wipe off, let sit/sweat, wipe off again, let sit/sweat, and wipe again.
So you haven't gotten the call? Go over there Monday. Use us as references. That will be special.I wouldn't count on it. Gibson traditionally has been a maker of guitars with the detachable headstock feature that plays at building the occasional bass.

Fit's my VPs. So would think so.Somebody knows the answer to this definitively. Does the latest Epiphone hard shell case (this 'n) https://www.sweetwater.com/store/de...sJuQgUoWa9xwvINePG_aem_cjuwQ7Sjsu0YqwFsLPou0g
