The Blue T-Bird makes its first live gig.
Appropriate that is was on the 4th.
After sitting in for half a set the Bass player came up and said “ I quit, I’ll just be the front man now”
I’ll take that as a compliment 😎
Cheers!
Way to show 'em how it's done-and what to use to do it! 👍

Another masterpiece! Very cool Rob.

A couple hours jamming with the Dead keeps me humble, but sure is fun — even though Mexicali Blues and Me and My Uncle leave me in the dust.
Also, it turns out a red Greco Thunderbird through a compressor, eq, Super 800 and Rumble 100, played with a pick, can help get really close to Phil’s tone.
Pretty sure the tie dye helps, too.

An instructor gave me the advice of playing on the most basic elements like the root notes first. Then add the other notes as you get more competent in singing and playing that much.. But sometimes that may not be possible. Bowie bassist Gail Anne Dorsey said that she uses a metronome starts off learning in slow time until she could sing and play at the same time. When she toured with Bowie, she used to do "Under Pressure" with her singing Freddie Mercury's part.
Love GAD - :bassist:

I don't, it's a fairly heavy powerful rig though. Not sure what model - maybe this one?

Ok, thanks.
I’m planning on using my own head, not particularly a fan of Mesa amps. Ideally it’s 8 ohm and I could use my Ashdown Geezer 600 watt, and have it running at a more manageable 300 watts.

Right?

Aside from maybe getting Geo to work on something, and maybe something from North guitars if I can talk him into it, my last Thunderbird could well be a commissioned Brooks. Rob’s work is amazing. But I do need to thin out the flock a bit. Unfortunately, the clock keeps ticking and I’m not getting any younger.
