But produced sort of a revelation:

Working backward from measured gaps and diameters (which are easier to measure accurately than the centers of round grooves or string tops), the string centers on my 2018 are at 0.405" +/- 1/100", which is probably about my MOE and also coincidentally is the difference in string radii, in a 45/65/85/105 set.

Given I measured with strings at tension, all were a couple thousandths thinner than nominal, too.

0.4" centers, on-center, would give me 0.125" edge gap on the G side, and 0.0975" on the E side. At the nut.

Keepin' it real, If I can cut the finished width slots with handtools accurate to +/- a hundredth placement, it'll be a pretty good day.

I was going to swap a black PG onto mine. But I'm shocked to admit that the tort has grown on me. Who would have thought.

If I have pickups with pole pieces it becomes even easier. I am impressed with all the thought he's put in it though, it a lot more than I would have done.

I keep the nuts I have removed and often use them as starting reference.

The 43 screws to get the bottom off was the hard part. Forgot my drill and had to do all by hand. It wasn't 43 screws but seemed like it. The replacement itself took less that one screw. (I know...). The rail under the keys fell out/off and to get it back on you have to kind of move the bottom and rail at the same time and hold before it falls off again. Other than that it was a snap. I need to update the software on it next. Not hard to do but a bit of a pain to re-remember what to do to load it. I hate keyboards. All the fooling with the menus with this one (which seems endless) makes me feel I've been thrown into a computer repair class that I didn't want to take.

Hate working on keyboards/pianos/synths.....B3s are all point to point....electrician's nightmare.....
