I hate the lack of info they have on the used stuff.
I agree. If I am buying a bass from them I call to ask for an in-hand description.

There is a rare LEFTY Gibson TBird on eBay right now. Not cheap but also difficult to find. He does have the "make offer" option on it.

I have been considering a EB 13/14 (amongst an everchanging group) as a non-Bird bass; now I'm wondering if the new Embassy may beat it into that role. Thanks! I was just skimming through there. From the sounds of things, the looks & the lack of a hardcase are the only real pratfalls...

There are non-Bird basses?
Honest question: Why is it described as a non reverse?, Is there also a reversible option?, I think not. I mean obviously its not reversible right?......my head hurts....and if so, are there non-reverse non-Bird basses? Most likely would cancel out... (can you say double negative?)

For sure but when introduced it was the original Tbird design and I thought the next design would have been referred to as a reverse but "not" a non reverse.Sorry to be cheeky with word-plays but for me it stems from how the 2 varieties of T-birds are referred to. The original ('63-'65) T-bird is referred to as "reversed" - now obviously this wasn't the case when it was introduced, as in "Here it is folks, the new "reversed" Thunderbird bass!" Someone somewhere along the line considered it a 'reverse' of ? ... its reverse? Yes, I know Fender legally "claimed" it was the 'reverse' design of a Jaguar/Jazzmaster (which is a stretch by any standard) and they forced Gibson to 'reverse' that design (sort of) into what is refered to as a (wait for it...) 'non-reverse' T-bird. With this kind of reversed logic - it always begs word-play when considering left-handed Thunderbirds...
I get that but the reverse body came first, see what Im saying?. The standard current style Tbird should be known as a reverse since it is the mirror opposite. It's considered a reversed body design because the longer horn is on the lower half of the body. It's just that simple.

Ok 2 things: #1 It should just be considered a reverse as I dont get the "non" part as obviously no one will try to reverse it so thats just standard. #2. Thank you very much for your input as I believe most of what I was trying to figure out you answered for me. All I wanted. No the original thunderbird and firebirds had a longer lower horn, so they were the reverse of every other guitar/bass made at the time.
As many of you are aware... a few days ago, I put on my asshat and made a fool of myself. I sincerely apologize for disrupting the normal state of peace and good vibes that radiate from this great place. I was out of line, and didn't handle the situation appropriately. I do consider myself fortunate to be a part of this group, and appreciate the mentoring, advice, and perspective that you've shared with me. I will be be more careful about keeping "that guy" in check.![]()
I think I got us covered.I can never remember which are reverse and which are non reverse TBirds.
Anyone up for a game of Beerhunter? It was a favorite college pastime of ours when the McKenzie bros ruled. Take off hose head! Its pretty much what were made of, Beer,Hockey and Music.![]()
