Thunderbird Club

I have been considering a EB 13/14 (amongst an everchanging group) as a non-Bird bass; now I'm wondering if the new Embassy may beat it into that role.

Does anyone know if the Embassy will have a wider neck than the Vintages 1.5" ? I believe it will be a mahogany set neck bass.
Check at below link for specs (and note that there is a dark cherry finish option on this model). Hopefully, there is no geo-fencing from the site.

It's considered a reversed body design because the longer horn is on the lower half of the body. It's just that simple.

...or, it's the reverse or opposite of the 'norm' - something 'anti-norm' - out of the ordinary, special, unique. Yah.., that's the ticket! :bassist:

If you're looking for clank in yer strings, you might wanna check out the SIT Power Wound Nickel set. I won a set through a Fakebook giveaway and put them on my 1988 Charvel 4B yesterday while I was doing some other work on it. Dang, they're bright, and they have way more clankaliciousness than I've had before. They're brand new so I don't know how they'll last, but Dave Ellefson has used 'em for decades. How could he be wrong?

I believe the width at the nut is 1.62", but is described as being their "slim taper". I'm imagining that the neck feels similar to the one on my Goth.

Forget about it. I'm sure everyone else here has. I think this is as easygoing a place as there is. Sure, we have moments, and agree to disagree, but everyone is pretty chill. Some of us post after having a few and well, sometimes it shows. But, unlike some of the other TB threads, all of the regulars here show each other dignity and respect. I've only been around here about eighteen months, but I think of my brethren Bird owners as friends. Too bad we're so spread out that having a get together really isn't something that can become a reality. The bottom line is that I have learned a ton from the people here and am thankful for it. Mark reigns over a great little corner of the net.

1.625" at nut.
Thank you, that sounds great.
(TBH I am a little worried about the 1.5" neck (assuming) on the Vintage Pro).

Everything I have is 1.625" or wider. Just need to try and make sure how I handle it.

Honest question: Why is it described as a non reverse?, Is there also a reversible option?, I think not. I mean obviously its not reversible right?......my head hurts.
Lotta variables to consider, like... are you right handed or left handed? Are you standing in front of a mirror? Are you facing said mirror? Are you north or south of the equator? I mean... you gotta think about all this stuff! If you found yourself in the wrong situation, you could actually wind up with a left handed non-re-un-re-reversed Thunderbird. Just think what that would do to your presumably compromised cranial contents!:wideyed:;)
