Prob more work, but a pickup switch so you can disconnect it. Then if you change your mind - et voila! We have 2Does anyone have any recommendations for something unobtrusive and black colour to cover a pickup cavity? Preferably easy to cut without cutting me. I'm not looking for anything steam-punkish a la @Count Bassie's recent adventures. Thinking more along the lines of tracing around the mounting ring, cutting and then screwing it into place.
Thanks, Derek! I believe the rain has gone south of us. Here's the latest hour by hour.

I did bring a poncho for each of us though.![]()
Shoulda charged your phone more too.
Do I sound like your mom? Lol

You lot are SO fickle! Yesterday it was all the Vintage Pro and now you're all drooling over supposed new Gibsons! Ooh SHINY! Well, I'm still holding out for an Epiphone, so there!
Actually, a new Gibson would be seriously outside my price range, the Epi is far more realistic. Just need to know how good those pickups really are - and that's what has me a little on edge atm.

Pics or scratch built trains didn't happen.I've made some PGs with some of the thicker styrene from Evergreen, it's cool stuff to work with, esp for scratchbuilding model trains![]()

Kat does your case also have this strong solvent stench? Bought another one, thought the first was an outlier, but those things smell like a glue factory.
Got the first one for 2 years now and it still smells. Not as much, but still and of course the basses start to smell like it, too.
Love Gibson's vanilla cases.
Yeah it does smell noticeably of solvent. The lid is propped open a little to let it air out. It's good to have a home for the NRBird at last.

Yeah, too bad they're the only homes available. The first case went unused for a year then I put ythe Blackbird in. Pretty worried what the new case does to the white finish even if it's poly - simply didn't want it to lie around in a gigbag anymore, even if it's a good one.
Is Carlo's bird poly?
Talking about homes. Got the Allen Woody yesterday. Went to the local music store to get a bag/case. No chance. shortscale hollowbody cases? Got to build one myself.
...and the guy told me they've got issues with Gibson and might not get new gear this year. So maybe no new Epi for me.![]()
