Sloved played a beat-to-hell '63 T-bird II. He didn't have a clue of it's worth and frankly my dear he didn't give a crap- he just played the damn thing banging out low-tones in the cash register. Nobody in the dives his band played were going to give a rats-ass about his axe - they were either passed out at the bar, plotting some scam or eyeing the skirts that had the mis-fortune of wandering in. His old B-15 was in the shop and damn if he had the moola to bail it out - meantime he was using his guitarists spare Marshall rig with a rip in one of the drivers. It belched out a nasty tone that suited him but he missed the booty his Ampeg offered up.

They were at first, but I didn't quite meet on their intellectual level when it came to quantum physics and experimental breeding on humans, when I started in with Jeff Bridges as "The Dude" and "Thunderbirds", that's when they opened the door and shoved me out, you know, it's tough to do a tuck and roll from another universe.

The keyboard part was about 1" too wide to fit across my boot (my car is the same body as the Chev SS for NA readers) and about 4-5" too long to fit in the other orientation. We managed to fit it between the seats vertically. The Leslie was about 1cm too tall to get into the boot, do that went onto the back seat.
The stand and pedals went into the boot as well as the Korg synth that fit on it, as well as the box that allows plugging them in to the speaker.
The Roland MP600 electric piano was a bridge too far and has ended up in my garage... shhh!!!

One thing I've learnt, don't get in a fight with s keyboardist... they must get serious muscles lugging these things around. I'd hate to be breaking it down and packing it away at stupid o'clock after a gig.

What a cool thing, to have all this stuff drop in your laps like this! I remember your cuz was gonna refurb the Hammond/Leslie... what's the plan for the other treasures?

Quantum physics??? Well... it's easy to see why they didn't pick me!

My question is... when you were in the middle of an alien abduction... why were you worried about car seat upholstery?:roflmao:

Well, honestly we were just striking up some gentle conversation. Car upholstery never entered my mind. Just instinct when being hurled from a moving vehicle.

Going thru the same thing with my 94 year old mum that I just moved into my house two months ago. I've already drawn the line at sponge baths. Once she can no longer bath on her own it will have to be done by a care giver, I'm sure if I did it I'd be mentally scarred for life. :eek:

I don't think it's in the book at all, and since I was getting ready for work and enjoying the model trains I didn't look. However, IIRC both Jon Maye and Uwe Hornung have one, Gibson did a very few 'Birds like that in the years preceding the official re-issue in '88. Uwe has a white Thunderbird II from '86.

My Unk won't even let the extremely good looking caregiver bath him.
I don't even quite understand why, but this has been the routine for a while now.

Thanks for the follow-up. I thought that perhaps the GBB didn't have any solid numbers and had put that value of less than 10 as probable. Either way, it sure is rare.

It would be like having a 2008 Chevrolet Camaro. They were discontinued for years and they went back into production in 2010. BTW, I did the sheet metal engineering on that bodyside panel, not to be confused with the design of the car. I did the engineering that took the flat sheet metal and turned it into the bodyside panel which is the quarter panel and door ring.
