Anyone I need to upset?
You missed a substantial amount of tort/salami based japery, which is for the best really.
Power tools or gators?

It's the CMD 121P combo. A relatively new addition to the fold and a fabulous amp. I'm considering the NY121 cab as an extension, but for now, the combo is perfect for meIs that Markbass cab yours that I see peaking out there? NY 1 x 12?
Very nice. Those cabs are so light. I bet your back loves you for it!It's the CMD 121P combo. A relatively new addition to the fold and a fabulous amp. I'm considering the NY121 cab as an extension, but for now, the combo is perfect for me![]()
Jeez, you go to the ER, have a pleasant four day hospital staycation and you miss forty pages.

Gold ain't really my thing, but you could get some interesting texturing effects with gold leaf under a perspex PG.

Are you ok?
If you're up to it, Our friend Fixer has been getting a good razzing, you can tease him with one of your builds.
Happy Birthday, Dad!View attachment 1183573 I'd say I've got mutant hands.
But even though I'm partial to flat and wide. I adjust pretty well.
I don't think anyone is screaming out for an upsetting at present.
My hospital stuff has been pretty positive of late.
Everything OK with you, Carlo?
Funny you should mention the money bass. I've been eye-ballin' those. I'm glad to hear you have one! It's tough to find information about them. Folks here on TB seem to love them even though the neck is "too big" (that is my favorite problem to hear people complain aboutGibson + four string + chunky neck + Thunderbird sound + reasonable price?
One to consider might be the mid noughties Les Paul Double Cut/ Money Basses (essentially the same bass). Very, very under rated basses.
Anyway, they have a good solid neck 41- 42 mm at the nut. two guitar pickup shaped TB+s (which some of us reckon sound better than the ones they put in TBirds- a bit clearer and more lively), not a heavy bass (like some other model Les Paul Basses can be) and very well balanced.
I gig mine a lot.. Works really well in the three piece power trio type setting.
They come up occasionally and can be very reasonably priced. There are a couple on eBay at present- one from Japan which is too expensive and another in the US bidding @ $750 with a couple of hours to go. The US one is a blue Money Bass but appears to be less flamey than some of them can be. As I said they come up - around a thousand dollars should comfortably buy a good one IMO.
Yes, thanks. I had a high fever and chills that I guessed were the beginning stage of sepsis. Drove the 35 miles to the ER for confirmation. 125 bpm heart rate was the icing on the cake. They admitted me to the ICU immediately and the medical industrial complex took over. Lots of high powered broad spectrum antibiotics and some badass nurses did the trick. Heart rate and temperature were back to normal in 48 hrs. Then they moved me to the cheap seats for the next two days to make sure everything was OK.

I intend to find outThat Money bass my have a neck similar to the LesPaul bass Fix.
But I can't say for sure.
Jeeeez man! What a collection you have! ... and your personalizations are absolutely top drawer!![]()
Very cool. Did they add the Thunderbird emblem/logo to pick guard or did you do that?

Before I started flyin' with you 'birds, I found out about the Roger Waters signature P-bass. It has the largest neck that Fender produces. I don't particularly care for a straight P-bass, so I started looking around for that neck all by itself, thinking I could put it on sup'm else. I only found one available. It looked like it had fallen out of the back of a pickup truck while goin' down the road, and they wanted 400bux for it! I moved on.You remind me of one of my best friends from college. He gets excited about everything. The good news is that he has had the sense to stay with the same wonderful wife for thirtytwo years. But he has changed jobs at least twenty times, maybe more. You get the drift....
Anyway, no shame in looking at everything. As we've discussed, get thee to to Chicago for a couple of days. Play everything you can get your hands on.
I currently own and routinely play two Tbirds, three Fenders, and a very nice Ibenez. I played each one before buying. My Goth was a mess when I bought it, but I knew what I was getting and that it needed a ton of work (it's now almost like new). As our friend GBassNorth says, "a tool for every job." I just love my Gibson Bird best of all. She was my dream bass as a kid and it's been a love affair ever since we hooked up.
An example of what you can consider is currently in the classifieds:
For Sale - Only: LOOK, LOWEST PRICE, MUST SEE, As New Hybrid Fender, One of a Kind, P Bass with P/J Pickups
I'd buy it myself, but I have no need for it as I own a very similar one in the same color. And the neck is too wide for my preference. What is interesting is that it has an upgraded P pickup and a Roger Waters signature neck with a 1.75 nut. I believe that is pretty much a classic, thick Pbass neck.
Please guys, don't rag on me for pointing out a Fender. I'm just trying to help our friend out.![]()
