What an awesome old bass.

I played one at the Chicago Music Exchange when I visited Chicago 4 years ago - sounded like my '64 T-bird and the neck felt similar. I guess that's what they go for - I can't recall what they were asking for the one they had. CME was cool - they handed me any vintage bass I asked to play and left me in the room by my lonesome. I guess I looked like I could potentially whip out a Gold card. Anyway, the '62 J I played blew everything else out of the water and it was only $20k - :rolleyes:
 
I believe the model is LPB-2/Deluxe. Thick flamed maple top that actually becomes the "binding" on the edge. No contours at all. Just flat slab front and back. Still feels comfortable to play tho.
