When I first got into MTB'ing, there were lots of post ride opportunities to sample a wide variety of craft beers... almost all of them made me want to wash them down with a "regular beer".

I went through an IPA phase, but the whole hops and nothing but hops thing has gotten out of hand. There are some local pale ales and amber ales that I like a whole lot better, and even some local lagers that I like a lot now. Things change.

Last weekend started a two week marathon of way too many shows. Most of 'em are paid, so that's good. But, my day job has this pesky habit of sticking around and expecting productivity. Maybe by this time next year I will have figured out how to manage things a little more rationally. Most of it is on the upright these days. The 'Bird was out last night, bouncing off walls of buildings. Come to think of it, all the shows for the next couple weeks are outside. Anyway, the 2015 'Bird through the 360m sounded amazing. Anybody who doesn't think that's a versatile combination of bass and amp hasn't tried it.

There's certainly nothing wrong with that statement (other than the fact that it was concluded with a preposition)

The vibe that I've picked up, is that most T-bird players seem to echo your sentiment. When somebody like Victor Wooten comes along... I gotta watch it for the "WOW" factor if nothing else!

Exactly. Also the idea has taken hold that IPA is "real" beer and any other type is lesser. It is more about marketing the exclusivity of the product/experience than anything else...

I'm far from being a beer fanatic, but virtually every "craft" beer I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot) should be labeled "crap" beer. I'd guess that out of every 100 craft beers I've had, I'd consider actually buying maybe one or two of them. Just give me an ice cold Mexican Lager (virtually any brand) with or without a lime and I'm plenty happy. Now if someone can explain to me why I'm drawn to Mexican style beers vs others I'd love to be enlightened.

What's in the cans is probably amazing. It's the waiting on line for hours that for lots of people, including myself, seems ridiculous. As is calling it sh*t if you've never had it or simply don't like that style. Think back to the discussion of people disparaging Gibson basses, when most of them probably have never even played one.

These lines happen all the time at Other Half. It's annoying that I, as a local, usually can't get any because the out-of-towners have bought it all up, often to use for trading or selling. But, the cool thing about Other Half is that what they release in cans is usually also on tap, so I can just go when it's calm and get a growler of whatever.

However last night an Epi Classic Pro-IV came up in my local classifieds: A mint and practically brand new Classic Pro-IV with an original mint Epi case (new tapered model), new heavy duty Richter Raw leather strap with Dunlop Dual Design straplocks and a mint Hercules GS412B stand.

All this for $ 319 /€ 269

Current new price at Thomann for all items are $ 810 / € 682,4 which is not a bad price here in Europe either...

On top of this, it's probably the nicest red Vintage Sunburst I've ever seen, and the bass is ultra light (3.6 kg / 7.94 lb) and has ultra-low action, no fret buzz and perfect intonation and new strings! (For comparison my Alpine White Classic Pro weights 4.1 kg / 9.04 lb).

I guess I scored big time!

I've never met an IPA that didn't make me regret buying it. If money were no object... I'd keep a separate refrigerator filled with nothing but Newcastle Brown and Guinness (with a few 4 packs of Boddington's in the drawers. I've tried more craft brews than I can remember, and they're usually good... but they're expensive, hard to find, and put me in mind of snobby holier than thou types that just make me wanna stomp kittens. I usually have pretty good luck finding my brews no matter where I am, they're consistent, and they don't taste like bread soda. I also enjoy the fact that, in their indigenous regions, they're just "the workin' man's beer". I challenge anyone to walk into a proper pub, order a Guinness, and try to act like you're any better than everyone else in the place because of it!

Not a fan of much SnP. I like it when it's done subtily. That said Victor is a master and he never talks down any style of playing, just like Jaco, because they went through the same simply lines everyone goes through, because they admire( )the same guys lots of less talented bass players do. Ask Victor to play Chic's Good times and I guess he might do and enjoy it.

Calling it $4!+ without trying it is definitely a Tort move, but I'm with @GBassNorth I've tried enough craft beers to know that I can't stand the taste. During that discussion I mentioned that it wasn't the bashing of Gibson basses it was that people think there's a finite amount of possibilities in the world, and like you said that most of them probably have never even played one.
Having tried a good amount of craft beers, I can't stand the taste.

I'm sure you're right about the brew. I referred to is as poopy because of this quote:
