I care far more about IBUs. More than 25 is my preference. This is a particular favorite At 100 IBU Great Lakes Brewery - RoboHop Imperial IPA

Like many here I do not slap/pop. But Victor Wooten is just an incredible individual. He plays many different styles, he is an entrepreneur, he is an author. He grew up in modest circumstances and has done extremely well for himself. Certainly someone to be admired in many ways. Musically, well of course he is good - he has been playing since he was age 2 and playing professionally since age 6.

If you're an IPA fan, the Citra Double from here Kern River Brewing Company – With two separate restaurants, our local beers, and the beautiful scenery of the Sequoia National Forest there's something for everyone at KRBC. Come on in and see what all the hype’s about. at 75 IBU is tasty. Hard to come by as the small brewery can't even begin to keep up with demand. We get it by a lottery system and you have to go to Kernville to pick it up; not that there's anything wrong with that. Some time on the river, good eats in the pub and a wonderful souvenir to take home.

Greenpoint makes amazing IPAs, but never seems to list IBUs. I'm sure they're high.

I'd like to try Kern River, but it's all about distribution and we don't get it here. Plus the already extremely limited production. I'm fortunate to have Other Half as my closest brewery.

My local brew is Nickel Brook. My go to beer from them is Headstock at 80 IBU [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

If you ever get to SoCal, the trip to KRBC is a day and evening well spent. Nice folks. A mom and pop business that supports live music.

I sounds like it freed him up a bit - that pesky G string is always in the way. :bassist: At a certain point - it's a percussive instrument anyway.

I wonder what made him (and Chris Adler) decide to be a part of the new Nitro project. Back in the day Nitro was all about playing the world's supply of notes with the most grating guitar tone available. They were a parody, unintentionally, of everything bad about 80's metal.

In Victor's case, he's just a session player. He get's hired just for the recording, with no major contributions. A better question is why did Nitro decide to hire Victor.

As for Chris, it's just another opportunity to play the drums. From what I've heard about him from LoG's interviews and documentaries, he eats, sleeps, breathes drums. So if he gets a chance to play drums for another band I would assume he'll take that opportunity, especially for a band that was around when he was in his teens, like Megadeth and Testament.

Exactly. Also the idea has taken hold that IPA is "real" beer and any other type is lesser. It is more about marketing the exclusivity of the product/experience than anything else...

IPA Enthusiast: " I stood in the rain for 9 hours, to pay $96 for 4 cans of beer that were handed to me by a human beard through the basement window of an abandoned asbestos factory. I posted a pic to my Instagram so you can enny me.
I just opened one.....mmmmm.... I can taste hints of daffodil because that is what the goats ate while producing the manure they used to fertilize the hops....." :thumbsup:

Yeah, that’s all really annoying. People are using canned beer as currency. But all the same, the beer itself is pretty damn awesome. In my opinion of course.
