Thunderbird Club

Hey, how come "Thunderbird Club" ALWAYS get top position at least once/twice a day in "Basses"?

IMHO... there are a number of contributing factors. Generally... T-bird players seem to be a more open-minded bunch. We celebrate our differences instead of bashing them. We ask questions without fear of ridicule. We share parts of our lives with each other without fear of judgement. We share our successes and our failures, and we support and encourage each other. All of that, combined with the baddest mod in the biz, makes this the place we wanna be!

We have a very dedicated group from around the world and all walks of life as well. We are (as one our members said) individualists drawn together by our favorite bass, I love this group of people here, they're the real deal.
Echoed and reciprocated!

and NO ONE here ever bashes FSOs...

Not the only thing that's long - that was an industrial accident waiting to happen!
What, you don't think electricity and water mix well? I have played on a dock. Our drummer (also female for whatever that's worth) got stung by bees and never broke the groove. I got zapped in the mouth a couple times, but as a CroMagnon, it didn't bother me that much. We were playing a private event for some rich people. There was a private sea plane pulled up to an adjacent dock. I'm surprised they didn't call the cops when we turned up in my van.

Just the ticket for the upright players out there:

Send me one and I'll tell you what bat holes sound like. I bet you could really flog that thing and it would do just fine. Gut strings would still do weird stuff when temperature and humidity change a little.

And since we are into out late 1960's in pages, it's time for another honor.

And IIRC, the reason he likes the NR is because it gives better access to the upper frets, a result from playing with D. Boon. It does annoy me on one song of ours that the regular Thunderbird has pretty crappy access to those.

There are many differences here with regards to that as well. Some of the folks here are devout T-bird "purists", some of the folks here have collections consisting of every brand & style you can think of, and many fall somewhere in between. If a purist chooses to express an opinion or remark about a Jazz Bass (for instance)... they know their posting will be seen by a person or people who own at least one, who they don't want to hurt or offend... and the readers generally know who's making the comment, and take the remark in the appropriate context. The depth of the remark has a lot to do with it also. It's one thing to say, "I hate Jazz Basses! They sound so thin & nasally". It's something else entirely to say, "I don't know how anybody can stand Jazz Basses, and people who use them are f****d in the head". Without a little respect & understanding, the whole thing crumbles, and we all lose. To be fair though... it is the Thunderbird Club. The would-be reader has got to have some kind of an idea of what they're gonna see when they get here...
