There are also other factors to consider: Older Epi birds have a straight headstock like a Gibson, whereas newer models have a slight downwards slanted headstock.

Do you mean the carve on the edge being a shallow flat rout on older T-birds and an angled bevel on these Epi Goths etc? If so yes, this is the case. Also note my '64 has a sorta' (rounded) pointy end (lower) and a gap at the other end (top).

Ya wanna know the part that bugs me the most about it? Ya hear (or anticipate) whatever badassery is flowin' from the bassist... the camera invariably zooms in on the guitarist... a couple seconds pass (certainly long enough for an intelligent person to recognize that it ain't the guitar player that they're hearing)... and they keep the {expletive deleted}{expletive deleted} camera on the wrong guy!!! The level of ignorance and disrespect is certainly noteworthy... but the part that eats my arse, is the fact that I just wanna see what the guy's doin'!!!

For those 'intrigued' by the Traynor heads, there are very few YBA200 video reviews out there, and most don't actually tell you much of anything, or do the amp justice. This is okay, if short:



This YBA300 sounds pretty close to what I have.



The original YBA200s came with 6550s, while the newer model has KT88s.

I prefer KT88s!.

Lol yeah, I have come to accept it, part of the bargain, our lot in life. I will say it has made me pretty brash onstage I take my side of it and own it.

So today I was a couple hours away from home, getting a couple engines, stopped at a few music stores, NONE had a Thunderbird. But the last one I stopped at was a literal Superstore called Cosmo Music it had a main lobby with a cafè then there was a guitar store, drummer store, etc. THEY EVEN HAD FOUR RITTER'S!! Two basses and two guitars. If you're ever near the Vaughn/Richmond Hills ON area I would check the place out.

Anyways I picked up Gibson knobs for my Studio V (they had Allparts ones but the font was different and it'd bug me. Plus there wasn't much of a cost difference) and a used Zvex Basstortion pedal.

From a guitar player's perspective... the KT88s would definitely be the way I'd go. Since I put a bass in my hands... every day's a reminder that this ain't no geeetar! If the same rules of character apply... I may find myself preferring the 6L6s for bass, to achieve a li'l more clean headroom. When the time comes, I'll hafta try both & see what makes the biggest smile.

With the standard monitor speaker I couldnt hear the bass but once the headphones were jacked in it was like going from a 22 inch black and white television to a 60 inch panoramic in HD. Im sure it was a great experience to be standing or sitting anywhere in the club as well.

I'm runnin' some Logitech 2.1s on my Mac. It ain't no high dollar booteek s#!t, but that sub allows me to appreciate the audio purdy goodly

This is a great peeve of mine as well, perhaps if Les Claypool was around before Hendrix was or Billy Sheehan was before Chuck Berry was just perhaps the common fan of the music admiring world would have shifted their interests in the direction of the bass player. Perhaps?.

No I cant but I know it would be Fn fantasticdrool. Im very sure that someone in the world that is tech saavy may have or may be able to find a closely matched tempo for a single Claypool bass line and single Hendrix guitar riff with drum backing and mash them together. But when they do I sure hope we are fortunate enough to find it if and when its posted. If anyone is reading this that can make this happen Please do keep us in mind and let us know when we can freak out about it. Thank you in advance.
