About 15 miles away. I remember hearing Bethlehem on the winter school closing lists of my youth.
If I were to play out, that's what I'd look for in a gig bass. Good call!

Ok, it has been 40 years + since decimalisation so new pence has worn off.
I'm really diggin the pick ups.
They have a particular tone to them that i have not had in any other bass.
It really fixes everything.
The Thunderbucker 66S measured at around 9k2Ω. I think the modern Gibson pups measure more around the 12kΩ mark, they'll have some moxxxie for sure.
They are pretty hot. Kinda nice having that extra juice on tap. And i just love the mids out of the TB's.
Of course another late night with the bass, and i'm in court today, doesn't help my cause.
My fingers hurt.
The TB+ pickups do come across as pretty hot. Only passive pickups I've used that can fairly easily trigger the peak light on amps.
I should add that I also find the TB+ really comfortable to rest my thumb on. After a long absence, I picked up my Carvin with sharp, rectangular single coils in it, and it felt really uncomfortable for my thumb.
Yeah, i've got to be careful lighting up my amp, but then again, i can't get it to loud in my apartment.
And agreed on the thumb rest thing.
@Larry V I think this is near your neck of the woods.

Every bass I ever owned had at least one gigging appearance. At some point, they are tools to use, not some kind of family heirloom to hide away in a closet. They don't get abused or purposely damaged, but I sure don't sweat the nicks and dings. Looking back, I can't think of a single one that didn't make it on stage at some point in it's tenure with me. Every one I own now has made stage appearances, generally multiple appearances.
[edit] The upright has the most appearances of all of 'em currently, and it's the one that's been broken a couple times. It's also the most expensive musical instrument I own. Go figure.

We talking analog pence or digtal pence? And, do you use 6V6 shillings or EL84 shillings with your analog pence? There are a whole lot of variables to consider.
