Thunderbird Club

I know series/parallel can be done with a blend pot, I've seen other people have it, but he wants series and no parallel, with a blend pot. I can't see it not being possible (sorry about the double negative), but I'm not certain.
there is no series with a blend pot, series turns the two pickups into one, one volume and one tone at that point, the switch is much handier and versatile :D

If you run a push/pull, there's no drilling required
True, but it was already a beater with lots of dings and smegma.

Thanks Kat!
Unfortunately looks like black isn't an option, if so I'll have to look elsewhere.

If anybody out there has a lead on a set of 2015 TBird pups (or 2013/14 EB or 2017 EB pups which are the same thing as the Bird pups) I'd be very interested.
Wondering if there will be people selling TB+ pickups after the Vintage is out. People putting the newies into their Classic and moving the Classics on. Just a thought.

All the talk has me pondering on 2nd Chinabuckers... not for the Goth but I'm planning on buying a body to practice (or kit) on before trying to mid any of my basses. Just pondering.

I'm not opposed to a push pull if it has to be that way... but it's not a feature I would go out of my way to acquire (of course... now that I've said that... I can see myself fallin' in love with it, & messin' around with it all the time:rolleyes:).

I have a push-pull (series/parallel) on my '66 trib J. After installing it I hadn't used it much, until recently. Now I like adding it to the mix.., but, a switch is so much more convenient. (like on a G&L L-2000 preamp) The physical action required to pull it up mid-stroke is the issue - pushing it down is easy.

FYI - on the pickup front - looking at specs for EMG and Bartolini Thunderbird replacement pups and it appears neither is a drop in replacement on the Goth. The Goth pup is longer and narrower than every replacement pup I've looked at, including the Gibson TBird pups. I suspect it's the same for the Chinabuckers and Thunderbuckers.

In each case the Goth pup is about a quarter inch longer and the Goth pup width is about a sixteenth inch more narrow. So possibly some minor routing for the width and maybe the need for a trim ring to cover the gap on the length. Neither are show stoppers but just an observation I thought I'd pass on.
