I was looking at the new Embassy Pro this morning. That looks pretty sweet, just wish it came as a 5 string.

Then looking at the Chechen mobster's office pics and thinking about what I will do next (work - wise) as 'retirement' is starting to get a bit boring. I think I will have to have an office bass. I will use my little blackstar amp as the office amp. Maybe an Embassy Pro would be a good office bass...

LOL - looking at that bored out of your skull office pic reminds me of why I couldn't wait to retire back in 2012. Best career move I ever made! Now I'm my own boss - well if we don't count the wife, or the live at home under employed college graduate daughter, or my 93 year old live in mother, heck might as well throw the dog in there too.
Needless to say, I spend a lot of time in my bass room and on the golf course and in the garage. I just keep telling myself, a bad day of retirement still beats a good day at work.

Yes. Last night I think I fouled a plug or two. Usually I'm just cruising in "econo-mode".

Slightly OT: I was wondering if anyone knew if a Thunderbucker/Lollar pickup was a direct drop in to a Fender Carbonita bass? I was thinking that bass with a Tunderbucker 66s might be a super easy and relatively inexpensive way to go......

No. A larger route is needed. Easy work since a pickup ring makes an good router template. I've done it at least 4 times with Jazz and Jag basses.

Boy, that's the worst looking tort ever...and the one in the middle isn't much better!

Not a Ric fan so I don't mess with them in any way, shape, or form.

Actually I only work on Cataldos or Cataldo owner's other basses.

@BklynKen is having his pelham blue non reverse reversed... was a silly joke.

I got a burst. I decided I’d be much happier in the long run with that. I also found it balances the aesthetics better on that bass.

Could always buy a ticket just for the head and put it in a stroller. "that's not an amp, it's my slightly overweight baby"

On second thought... a SECOND plane ticket from that area of Cali to NYC probably isn't very cost effective.

I don’t think strollers are designed for that weight. It would probably drop right through.

Kinda fell of that wagon, but it's only lemon chicken with artichokes and mashed taters, that was breakfast. I'm a remorseless eating machine these days.
Don't seem to gain a pound.

If you don't mind my asking... what is it about the Rics that turns you off?

Everything from the baroque aesthetics to the terrible engineering.

My friend has owned a '71 since new. I really like the checker binding, that's about it.
