That's really sad/funny. People feel entitled to look down upon you, based on nothing more than the fact that they work there? I don't know how it is in Oz... but in the U.S... people that work in retail sales, seldom have much to brag about (I'm not saying anything bad about the people. I'm saying it about the profession).

Took it to the practice space on the way to my next stop to pick up a piece of weekend work, and ran it into the Crate head. The available tones are a bit limited, it is what it is, but I got something I like out of it in short order. Nice little bass! I'm playing it Saturday at a street fest in Newport with the reggae band.

And here she is... very poorly done selfie, but the vibe is there: I am pleased.

Yeah, my plan is three as well. I have three Hercules wall mounts. I've had the Thunderbird, the Carvin, and the POS Flying V, with the Jazz in the back of the closet. Now that that's gone and the RNR is coming home soon, I'll get rid of the POS Flying V and just have the Thunderbird twins and the Carvin. Never getting rid of the Carvin. I love that bass and it's got a lot of sentimental value to me.

Music store staff with a holier-than-thou attitude has been around as long as I can remember. I have dealt with it many times over the years. Years ago I was in the market for a bass head. I had tried a head in one store but wanted to give the head a real run thru as I was serious about buying one. Two of the three guys at a shop very close to my apartment were total useless dicks. Went out of their way to be dicks to me and my friend (who was there seriously looking at a guitar). When I went back to buy the head the next day (that store had the best price around) I made sure to deal with the one cool guy that worked there. I also made sure the dicks saw me make the deal with the other guy so they knew they lost the commission. All I needed was someone to sell me an amp, not act like I was interfering with their day (the one guy was literally doing nothing but leaning against a Marshall stack next to the amp I wanted to test out). I even told them I was serious about buying a head so it wasn't like I was just tire kicking and wasting their time. This is not exclusive to music store staff (I am sure these two characters would have been just a bad in any other job) but I have dealt with it in dept. stores and with snooty waitstaff. People that rely on the public for commission or tips really need to know how to deal with the public because it directly affects their pay.

Forgive me Queen for I have sinned… the cardinal sin, it has been nearly a month since my last confession.
WARNING: FSO AND TORT AHEAD.

I'll be posting this in gen-pop tomorrow.

So I bought a Pre-CBS 1961 7en*** P-Bass locally from the second owner, who owned it since 64. I'll spare you Bird Brains the details of the 7en***. I paid a great price but if you're ever in Downtown Niagara Falls at night and see me standing on the corner… HELP A BROTHA OUT!

EDIT: The tone control has been used so much, the knob is actually worn in quite a bit

Yep, the neck is what I like about it also - reminds me of my T-bird, but with 24 frets. :thumbsup:
