Thanks, it's my favorite gig sport-coat. If I went to audition for Jethro Tull I'd wear it, as it's pretty well beaten-up! The hems at the sleeves are starting to get thoroughly frayed, and the the underneath parts of the forearms have large holes worn in them. It's just barely too big, and very comfortable. So yeah, it's pretty much me I guess!

From what I can gather, you've got quite the good style. I can't seem to get past looking like the made up Chechen I've become.

1 piece maple/rosewood Fneder necks have fared a lot better than their Gisbo 9 ply brethren. I forget, did they come with stands?

The EB/SG is kinda the comfort food of the bass world to me. Nothing super flashy sound wise but it always hits the spot and looks good doing it. Mine are short scale (not sure if the EB3 is as well) so they get deep dark and thumpy even with nickel Rounds. Flats or tapes would be awesome on that bass for dub and reggae.

Thanks man! Got my strap buttons all set (I'm not the first to have moved things around, the upper horn looks a little Swiss Cheesey from the back!).

I hear you on the thumpy thing there, for sure. Somehow I have a funny thing with short-scales though (sold my Aria EB-3 last year), even though it's not a hand-size issue as I don't have a massive reach. I tend to be pretty aggressive though, and the shorter scale often feels like a kid's bicycle to me in that regard (I'm 6'1 and mostly legs). But it's a great sound.

The Epi EB-3 is a long-scale, and to my happy surprise it's also set-neck- I'd forgotten that about it! This one's got flats, and there's something about digging into a bass with flats and 'buckers that just really, really makes the world a better place. And the look of it brings me right home in a way. I'm quietly content, which is a good sign.

So the 'Bird is back to one pickup, which I like for that bass even though it's not quite as punchy as with two, so it's becoming what I think it should be (maybe a TB+ for it in the near future?). My little musical toolbox is becoming orderly- each one has a flavor, nothing does everything. I'm definitely not cut out to be generic... as a young'un I used to think I was an ill-fit freak- now I find it was just a matter of finding my own yard, and owning it.

This little group has been a good influence in regards to realizing my voice. Lot of reality and solid support here for that.

True. Also the fact that it's carved even thinner than a Fneder...and has no volute or other attempt to remedy a problem that by 1962 was surely being seen on other GSO shaped objects.

I'd love to know who came up with the useless 9 ply lam. Probably the same guy or department that came up with the three point and then the EverTilt, aptly named at least.

I guess I get it... hmm... I just think she's the schniz, as we say. Easy on the eyes, sexy, great player, and she redefines the term "Bass Face" with panache! Love that. Were I single, on the scene, and 20 years my junior, I'd be at her door with a bouquet and all the brass I cold muster.

Fortunately, my wife saved me from the humiliation. Lol!
