Fenders sitting in the stand looking at me thinking "Hey!, WT + F?!", "I thought the band said they liked me best". I do love it though and I will create a time slot for it in my band rehearsals as I tweak the sounds. Im most impressed with the body curvature as it allows me to comfortably play finger style in more than one sweet spot. Its like an all access pass to the sweet spots that never expires. Im glad youve recognized the beast as well, nice confirmation call to insure Im not tone deaf.

Nope, you seem to be functioning ok! Lol. It'll be interesting to see how we employ the EB-3 in our respective venues, for sure. My Model One p'up came today, setting that in over the weekend.

I thought it was funny. Allow me to explain...

Just purely out of context, it was, to me, concise and right to the point of the whole "Escalated quickly" gag: The look on her face, the orange jumpsuit, prison... the surprising juxtaposition of it all. It wasn't about politics, it was simply the illustration of that sentiment. Cracked me up. I have not purposely involved politics with my socializing here, and I don't actually think bandying it about is constructive- nor is your insinuation.

Never heard of that one, cant wait for your feedback. One thing I must explore but I believe may not find is a Seymour Duncan neck pup for an EB 3. Ever heard of one?. That brand made my P-Bass an instant sound success story. Its only a Squire and sounded great stock but that simple pickup swap was huge, as good or warmer and rounder sounding than a Fender. Imagine the elation I would experience if SD designed one for an EB 3 ?.drooldrooldrool

You can make a tube amp sound solid state, but that's a one way street. That's not to say you can't have a good sounding solid state amp... but you definitely can't have a tube sounding solid state amp

Call it then. It was a joke... but, I offended. It was not meant as harm. I have offered an apology, and acknowledged it as offence to some. Perhaps you don't accept my apology.

I've exposed a ragged edge in my participation here before. I felt awful, apologized, and adjusted my communication as was suitable- because I like it here. I do also think that we're most likely all able to deal with small, unintended offences- and I'm not trying to test that.

If it's BS, what exactly? The post, or my follow-up? And what else do you want to say? Anyone else?

You can make a tube amp sound solid state, but that's a one way street. That's not to say you can't have a good sounding solid state amp... but you definitely can't have a tube sounding solid state amp

There are good sounding amps using both types of power stages. While my Mesa is in the shop (because it fell off the cab last recording session), I'm using a Sunn Concert Lead, and it's a good sounding amp as well.

DiMarzio makes the Model One (DP120), it's a drop-in for the EB series basses. They also make a Will Power model, a DP145 for wider string spacing- like your Fender has. The DP145 is also a tad different sounding, says on their site.

The Model One is an oldie, but still made. I put one in an EB-0 many years ago, and with a set of D'Addario Half-Rounds it was killer. Great sound, I thought anyway. Goes low, but is much more articulate than the Sidewinder that comes stock with th eEB-3. I'll post about it after another spin with it- it's been a long time, and this is a different bass...

Kinda Jon Spencer-like. Great riffs, tight band, good sounds, and although it sounds very produced, it runs pretty hard along that steep edge overlooking sonic fatality. I like it.

Went to the City with my sister for fleet week. I'm normally not the biggest fan of the military, but I suppose it reminds me of my childhood. Also I like a good airshow, and the Canadian Snowbirds squadron was there as well as the usual Blue Angels. Fun afternoon.

Oh yeah- I had a Schecter Stiletto Elite about 9 years ago that I put a Model One into. I also added an inexpensive, large-pole Jazz p'up at the bridge, the Model One was routed into the sweet-spot. GHS Brite Flats for strings. I played that bass on Plan 9's last album "A Tonic of Puffer Fish". The sound was a little bit brittle, but had a robust, clear, super-present low-end. Sometimes it was too dark, but I had the EMG active preamp still in the bass (switched the EMGs out for the Model One and Jazz) and maybe that had something to do with the very heavy, opaque tone I was getting.

So many variables.

Let me explain something to all that are interested - I am a member 1st of TB and also a member of this "club" - because I own a '64 T-bird, because I used to own a '63 T-bird which was stolen - my first serious bass I owned in the mid 70's. I am on this thread, in this club for one entry reason - and I just described it. As a member of TB and of this club, I will not stand for snide little "I'm sorry I posted that" BS related to politics, which if you want some easy reading will be spelled out in TB rules. Not cute, not funny - not allowed here for a reason.

That's for sure! I had to look at it real good after playing it to make sure it wasn't a medium scale bass. But the reach was def a long-scale. It was slightly disorienting.
