It's a motorcycle tire, adapted to a strap by the Levy company. Had it for 11 years now, very comfy.

And I did make a control plate, but was the wrong shape. second round coming up... need to look at some pickup covers, maybe get dimensions, then I'll cut one out and bend it up. Wise guy... :cool:

Looking good!
A brass cover will negatively affect the magnetic field generated by the pickup. Paint might not be so bad.

I haven’t had much time with other 5 strings, and there is a good amount of neck relief at the moment. But it doesn’t rattle off of everything, if that helps.

You ought to see the size of a Morley Rotating Wah pedal. It's the size of a Volkswagen and it's chrome. It's one of the most outrageous pedals ever made, but finding a working one is pretty tough. I currently have three of 'em with the intent to build one that works perfectly out of all of 'em. If I can get all three working properly, it's a bonus. They work as a volume pedal until you want them to work as a wah. Then there's another button that turns on the oil can, and it does a completely outrageous warbly echo/chorus/delay kind of thing. Do the wah and the oil can at the same time, and it's something you can't get any other way.

I thought it would sound great with a bowed upright. It sounded awful. Not all great ideas turn out to be good ideas.
