If I had to guess... I'd say they pooped out a bunch of these things with the idea of sellin' them off quick & disappearing before a lawsuit pops up.

Sounds plausible but who's going to sue? The individual purchaser? Nope, not on a sub $400 purchase muchless when one considers the challenges in pursuing a suit from an overseas manufacturer. Gibson? Probably not... lots of TBird R and NR makers(luthiers) out there making TBirds. They can go on making their junk basses without worries I'm guessing.

I have noticed there are not a lot of Bird slingers sporting bridge and pickup covers, I love them and I have them on my P, had them on my J and I want them for my EB 3 now. On ebay the fender covers are a dime a dozen but the Gibson/Epiphone covers are more scarce and no one in China is making them either. Such a simple piece to fabricate if you have the proper tooling but I dont. If I purchase the one that I can find on ebay the shipping and part plus dollar conversion gets me close to $50 for probably $3 worth of material. Anyone have a better, cheaper option on these?.View attachment 2792272

Yep. Check with Carlo. I have covers on one of my 'Birds, the '91 that's all chromed out. The P has covers as well. I really like the way covers look, too. And, I don't have any issues playing a bass with covers.

I'm with you on that. If I had the screws for my P-bass pickup cover, they'd be on. Surprisingly the previous owner still had the pup cover but not the bridge cover, seems like it's usually the other way around

It looks like someone tried (and failed) to put in a different bridge, and just ended up botching it.

I did at one point have a bridge that just covered it all up, but it went to my uncle for a project of his.

With Goth neck. Brass pickup cover and probably a control plate for a single knob, and a face-mounted jack next- and I think I kinda like the single Deep Sixx, at least I'm getting used to it.

Having a helluva time on the USPS website, but mailing Mike's neck off tomorrow, if God is on my side... Anyway, more to come. Long day.
