It is difficult to choose which is better - the original or the Body Count cover
The original is full or adolescent angst. The cover is full of adult RAGE.

OMG seconds in and I love it!. Fn' bomb!![]()
Speaking of bass bashing...I have a custom made (for me, no less) Drake 35" scale bass with TV Jones blade pickups. It's a beast! Plays great, sounds great but our initial drawings of the bass were much cooler to me than how it actually came out. I commissioned TB'r @JIO to do a makeover based on his Teisco inspired custom designs. Since we didn't want to completely cover all of Andrew Drakes amazing work, Jio did a distressed kinda thing. Some folks loved it, but some folks were deeply and even comically offended. One dude described it as something like, taking a beautiful bass, then dragging it behind a speeding truck for miles
Not that I totally care, because I love the bass.

It doesn't bother me a bit if someone doesn't like it because I love it, but some people seemed deeply offended. It's just a bass, man!

It's terrible; an abomination. How could someone do such a thing?! Oh the humanity!
Actually, neither look works for me. But if it played well for me, I would be happy. I am glad you like it. For me, 35" is a non starter. I keep thinking that my ideal scale might be about 33"
I think Bongo basses look awesome. I'd think about getting one if they weren't active. My friend has one. Fantastic playing bass.
Also, calling a bass ugly, especially to the degree you did, is against the rules on TB.
Gotta strange one here. I took the top 4 strings out of a new 5 string set of 50-135 gauge strings to put on my bird but had little to no sustain on the bottom (70gauge) string. No matter how I tweaked I could not bring that string to life. I thought it was a dud and the store replaced it, still no sustain. Went with a 55 gauge and everything is awesome. What the hell?. @Dadagoboi have any experience with this?. Is the Bird pickup not wound to register thick guage strings at the bottom end of the pickup?. Anyone have this before?.
