I think they sound great, just can't get along with the looks, well not yellow anyway.

The point is, when you have a bass with that slightly weird extruded form, it should be in an in-yer-face colour.

A few months ago I described a cabinet as the 'naked mole rat' of bass cabs ... and the next thing you know the company owner's at me saying 'are you calling my baby ugly?!' Now I didn't say it was 'ugly' and naked mole rats mum's love them...

Gotta strange one here. I took the top 4 strings out of a new 5 string set of 50-135 gauge strings to put on my bird but had little to no sustain on the bottom (70gauge) string. No matter how I tweaked I could not bring that string to life. I thought it was a dud and the store replaced it, still no sustain. Went with a 55 gauge and everything is awesome. What the hell?. @Dadagoboi have any experience with this?. Is the Bird pickup not wound to register thick guage strings at the bottom end of the pickup?. Anyone have this before?.

If it’s bad, I’d say you had 2 bad strings, or it has to do with the string not seating on the saddle correctly

If it’s bad, I’d say you had 2 bad strings, or it has to do with the string not seating on the saddle correctly

I had planned on changing out the three point and I did consider the saddle, I checked the nut for perfect fit and all was well. I decided to change the bridge because it was irritating me and still nothing changed. Sustain was lame plugged and unplugged. Dont know what happened.

If it’s bad unplugged, then it has nothing to do with the pickup. It’s probably too thick for the saddle.

I've thought of buying a stark white Bongo bass and putting a pale (piss in the toilet bowl) pickguard on it. As good as they sound and play, I just can't get past the toilet seat design.

I just thought the Bongo looked like an infinity symbol.
No imagination me.

New bridge with beautiful sustain through 3 out of the 4 strings. Maybe 70 gauge is just too thick as you say witch would mean I should shave the saddle down a bit. Never heard of anyone do that before but would be easy.

Try a 60-65 gauge string before you shave it down, if you can. More for my own curiosity.
