A Juvenile Delinquent Biker Gang. You don't have to curse at your mom, or smoke a bunch of chronic to be one. But it seems, staying out late, can be a problem.
Welcome aboard from a fellow Canuck! And btw, this thread moves fast!! A lot of chit chat, but if you have any questions on your birds, you will get a ton of great info here.
As the new Epi birds are just now being seen in the wild, and for whatever strange reason, Canadians seem to be getting their Vintage Pros a lot quicker than even our yankee neighbours (see what I did there?), please give us your impressions of the new chick in the nest. Especially as a long time owner of a bird, you might have some great insight as compared to an older version.
Oh, and btw, Go Leafs!!

I wouldn’t believe that for a second! She is testing youLmbo! The other day my wife said i have so many basses she is getting confused and wouldn’t know if I brought in another one. Haha my life achievement has come full circle and I can now start planning the arrival of a Classic Pro!
When I was married, all of my basses were white...hard to tell em apart, especially when I kept most of them at the studio

My grand plan to buy/rent a DB as a retirement present (years away) to myself may have hit a snag...
Cars are tools to me. They get me to where I want to go.
Sports (specifically NFL and NHL... but mostly hockey, cuz Canada, eh) are what gets my gears turning.
So my Epi Classic arrived today, and I love it to death. Since I have been a flats-on-pbass guy for a long time, I’m still adapting to the radically different sound. I like the tone I get with all of the knobs maxed, as it tends to suppress the midrange “honk” that seems inherent to the instrument. It came with a fresh pack of Daddario exl170s, which I installed right away. Rather than going straight for the eq, are there roundwound strings you can recommend that specifically tame the honk a bit? I prefer to dial in a tone at the source as much as possible rather than with knobs. And I do see myself ditching the Pbasses and getting another Tbird with flats in the near future.
So can I officially join the club now?

I started playing electric bass in 1979 and upright in 1994. Always wanted to learn, but it took me awhile to get around to. Got offered a tour for better money than I’d ever been offered, but had to play upright too. Learned just well enough to get through the tunes. Fake it till you make it

Take the tone control out of the circuit. And a Bird with flats, go Cobalts.
