I refuse to grow up! After all growing old is hard enough!
You're new here and probably haven't seen pics of my cars, but for those that have... About 5-10 years ago, the emblem of my (which was my dad's at the time) '72 Satellite (car with flames) went flying off, didn't realize it until we got home. So instead of buying an nos emblem, my dad made a vinyl decal to fit in the recessed spot that says:

"Growing up leads to growing old,
Growing old leads to dyin',
And dyin' don't sound like fun"

I have not grown up since that day.

That is a great philosophy to live by!

Physically? I can't speak for everyone, but I would assume most of us are.
Mentally? No... I don't think so. Juvenile at best.

Oh you kids today...

Back in my day, we had Much Music (which is kind of like MTV) and it played music. And if you missed a program, that was it; you missed it. No VCRs, no PVRs. And phones, hung on the wall and had a cord. You couldn't wander away with them. And if someone called when you weren't there, the phone just rang.
Get the hell off my lawn!

And this reference will help you.

BUt still get the hell off my lawn.

Didn't realize yours was that new, got a pic? I was in a band that owned an EB2D burst I gigged around '66. Wish I'd finagled that one!

Mine's an early '67 closet queen with the pot metal bar bridge, not as good as the pre '66 cast steel one that's on two of my EBOs. It came with a Starfire case that has eight latches and weighs a ton. I've been considering getting an Epi JCS case for it. There's no real need, it's not going anywhere. I took all the extra junk off it and replaced the witch hats. It gets one great sound!

I posted pics of it somewhere around here. The photos aren't very good ones, so I'll dig it out and take some new photos of it sometime soon. This week has a packed up schedule, so it could be a few days. I'll be playing the upright downtown tomorrow night with a surprise guest. My son is home from LA. Playing a show with a real musician is going to be a blast. Playing with a real musician who is also my son is even better.

I was at the tail end of when MTV had music videos, and phones were on walls. I remember watching MTV a lot, but most of it was hip-hop/rap. But Nine Inch Nails, Muse, The Gorillaz, and a few other decent bands would pop up from time to time.
We actually even had a rotary phone, that I loved to use. I remember when we got our first answering machine.
I still don't have a PVR, but my dad would record Monster Garage (Jesse James show) with the VCR.
And this was still late 90's, and very early 2000's.

That's exactly the Evertilt that's on my EB-2. Mine's a two pickup model, of unknown year. I have done a few serial number searches on it, and they all came back different. My best guess is that it's a '67 or '68. Maybe a '69 but probably not. The label in the f-hole is an orange oval, so it's from sometime in the '60s.

A three point is a huge upgrade from an Evertilt, but I didn't know any better for about 25 years. I had the EB-2 and that's what I played. About ten years ago, I finally figured out that it might be a little bit vintage and got a case for it. Up to then, I just hauled it around in a gig bag. The neck has never been repaired. Proof that God looks after idiots.

I’ve been liking some early 60s stuff and frequently find an EB2 or a Rivoli.
I’ve been interested to see that, and they look great too.

I remember when this song was released, it was awesome then. but so were the Cars (loved Candio), Van Hallen, BOC, Deep Purple, Zep, etc

Lmbo! The other day my wife said i have so many basses she is getting confused and wouldn’t know if I brought in another one. Haha my life achievement has come full circle and I can now start planning the arrival of a Classic Pro!:D
When I was married, all of my basses were white...hard to tell em apart, especially when I kept most of them at the studio :)

These are the things keeping me from a NBD. Just restrung one of my uprights. $340 for a set of strings I like...
