Thunderbird Club

That seems so fitting since my name is in the meme :cool:

Not one of us but the owner is a friend and a local repair guy and a great dude. Not sure why he put the Bird on there but it had the bomb sticker on it when he bought it. It is a great bass and he offered it to me but I can't move on anything at the moment. The basses from that era at Washburn seem to be nice pieces overall from what I have seen.
We bought a daughter a Disney Hannah Montana ‘Secret Star’ electric guitar kit - which was made by Washburn, and seems to be pretty good.
It is purple, with Star stickers, and is a scaled down Telecaster. She is 21 now and needless to say, she doesn’t touch it anymore. :laugh:

I’d play it.

Can I join have 2 Thunderbirds a 77 and a 78 Diamond Jubilee Edition. The 77 was one owner very clean the 78 was just for parts ;)

My local guitar shop has an Epi thunderbird bass for sale really clean couple minor nicks on the back of the head stock. Used marked on it because it was bought out in a bankruptcy. Guy traded it in for a 5 string peavy

Just got notice that my T Bird is getting shipped today. Estimated delivery is Dec. 11?!

“What’s the slowest it can get there? REALLY?! Sure you don’t have anything slower?!”

Well, they put it on a literal ship, which is having trouble doing ground deliveries.

We all have in our mind the tone we expect from a Thunderbird. One of my favorites is Wishbone Ash "Ballad of the Beacon " from Live Dates. Check it out!

I saw WA in their prime ('75) and had my 1st T-bird then - I learned this one note for note;

As far as I can tell, Gibson is NOT in bankruptcy.

Moody's Investor Services, a bond rating agency, down-graded Gibson debt to junk status, however, I don't think that they are currently in default (a necessary precursor to bankruptcy). The Moody's commentary indicates that the crunch comes in June and August 2018 when the company will need to refinance $520mm in debt. Gibson is not alone - Fender also can't seem to manage investment grade debt. Likewise Steinway.

You mean as far as a google search can deliver - my error for not doing so myself before posting
