There are basses, and there are Thunderbirds!
Now we know where aging equipment goes. It's all in Florida.
It's all kinda logical in a way, since this is where a lot of aging people retired to as well...

Im so happy to finally have something to share with you all. My band's first media release. The Sleeping Legion. I hope a few of you dig it.
The highest heels I have ever been able to manage are Cubans. It's a new genre - sensible shoe glam.
Yeah, P90s take dirt and make it dirtier.
NRs sank like a stone when they came out. I bought my first in 77 mainly because I loved the sound and I could get to the upper register and it was cheap! I am sure the House of Guitars could not believe their good fortune to sell a bass that had been sitting there for years with six others. The neck was beefy compaired to my 76 Ibanez Destroyer and 76 Thunderbird and the reach was unbelievably long, fortunately I have long gibbon like arms. I worked with playing that bass for a year before I could manage it. I am glad I stuck with it. The Nonreverse Thunderbird isn't for everyone but it is for me. It's now part of my "image" my identity and has even provided me with some fame and income.I hear you Andy, I just can't seem to warm up to them and I mean no disrespect to those of you who love them. The best I can say is they look "unbalanced" in a design sort of way while the Reversed just seems to have natural flow in shape. Maybe I'm just odd?![]()
Partially, kinda, semi-related...Now we know where aging equipment goes. It's all in Florida.
My favorite guitar is one of these:

F-holes and a P-90. There's not much more you can ask for. Upper fret access? Um, what would I do with that?
P90s rock! My favorite geetar pickup.Fair enough.
Must try this with my P90 equipped Epi Wildkats...![]()

Huh? Sarcasm I hope. My 60's Thunderbirds cut through like a hot knife.Given that Birds are such muddy sounding instruments, it's incredible they seem to prefer flat upper mids and highs and gently boosted lower mids and bass.
You’re more than welcome, my man.
Was that place a lot cleaner back then, or did they always have instruments shoved in glass cabinets? The couple times I was there, over 5 years ago, it was like a careless collectors collection. Guitars leaning on other guitars in cabinets, with very little room to get them out. But they had some really cool stuff. I think I got my Boss Flanger there.NRs sank like a stone when they came out. Those look very nice. Give them some Catalin Bread Adineko or Belle Epoch set on the point of self oscilation and a teeny tiny valve amp with everything dimed and let the fun -- and feedback -- begin.
Sounds good, vocals are good, reminds me of the band Masters of Reality a bit. We’re at the end of the year, and the band is now doing nothing until 2018, so I thought i’d Leave you with one of our more bass-driven tunes. Sadly this has me on most vocals, but we’re not bad for three old farts!

My favourite guitarplayer of all time - Not only for his sound, but also for his flambouyant looks and antics!
Just a shame he washed his talent down the drain, and totally messed up his life with drugs...
Thunders and his partner-in-crime Jerry Nolan, were such an inspiration (musically) in my young punk days.![]()
