Thunderbird Club

It's beautiful... and I'd love to have one in a collection... but if somebody asked me to draw a picture of feedback... it would look a LOT like that!
It does feedback pretty well, thanks. It's even better with one of these:

Yeah, P90s take dirt and make it dirtier.
I hear you Andy, I just can't seem to warm up to them and I mean no disrespect to those of you who love them. The best I can say is they look "unbalanced" in a design sort of way while the Reversed just seems to have natural flow in shape. Maybe I'm just odd? ;)
Nonreverse Thunderbirds have long been considered the ugly cousin of the much more sexy reverse Thunderbird. It wasn't till bass forums became popular that the NR got some love, I am thinking early 2000s that NRs really got noticed. I beat the drum so hard I drove my beloved NRS for the most part out of my grasp.

Maybe it's because of you that they reissued them in 2013!

We all need to head out into the GP and bash Thunderbirds of all kinds. Then maybe the price will come back down.

I think the 'Vintage' appeal that is driving the cost now too.
People are starting to ask ridiculous prices for their mid-late 70's 7ender's.
Give it time. Somebody will swoon over a classic 1986 Precision and the routine will go on. Buy all the pointy pink and lime green guitars you can now, while the price is low.

My favourite guitarplayer of all time - Not only for his sound, but also for his flambouyant looks and antics!

Just a shame he washed his talent down the drain, and totally messed up his life with drugs... :(

Thunders and his partner-in-crime Jerry Nolan, were such an inspiration (musically) in my young punk days. :)

A buddy who was in a band with a very similar name to The Heartbreakers was in NYC for their first gigs...their van got stolen outside of GBGB, welcome to NY. But that's not the story. He and the keyboard player were at another club checking out bands. Suddenly the keyboard player realizes his head is wet. He looks up and sees Thunders pissing on him from an overhanging balcony...Sicilian Justice.

Mark our Queen is one. We "meet " at The Dude Pit, it was a bass forum..........honest. When that imploded members from the pit set up The Last Bass Outpost a good place to hang very small group, check it out if interested. In 2005 or so there was this guy in the next town over selling all this crazy Gibson bass stuff I thought only I liked. We connected and became fast friends. Later in life you don't make many fast friends. Bill Wallence "drbassman" was one of them.

Gibson is making neon coloured Les Paul's right now (talk about fashionably late) So you still have a chance to get a new one too!

'Right there with ya...
'Been playing this axe for years..
'Use it on Hound Dog Taylor & the HouseRockers stuff, down-tuned to Db, with heavy round wounds on it. I get a lot of bass out of it. 'Looks good too.

Beautiful finish on that Kat... I play mine in either stadard E or Drop-D, with heavy Rotosound Purple's on them with a wound G string, as I'm not a fan of those thin cheese cutter strings... :)

Well phk, I didn't mention Cataldo Patti, yet another Thunderbird brother. I can't name everyone but this is a great club.

THANK GAWD somebody else has heard of the band "Maters of Reality"! Everybody knows the Black Sabbath album, but it seems nobody but hardcore Chris Goss fans knows about this band! Their first album is friggin' AWESOME!!!

Exactly right?!. I just turned @JJR58 onto them last week. Ginger Baker fans should also know about the band.
